Bad, bad, service 12/28/2012

Placed order for a gun part (AR-15 lower). Received confirmation and a request for FFL information. Dealer forwarded info and did not receive acknowledgement. Several days later I sent email to R Guns requesting confirmation and asked if I could "upgrade" (add a stock). "Sorry no" was the answer. I followed up with no to what? Subsequently my order was cancelled - not my desire or request. Merchant indicated on website don't call, don't email, that a $100 fine would be imposed against any customer cancelling an order. I responded to Merchants cancellation email that I didn't want the order cancelled, they could fill it as initially placed, if they wanted to cancel than I expected them to pay me the $100, as I made other purchases contingent on them fulfilling the contract they had with me. Please fill my order and confirm receipt of the FFL. They replied that my order was cancelled because: “YOU ARE A WACK JOB THAT WHY IT WAS TERMINATED. DUE NOT CALL E MAIL US AGAIN.” Without commenting on the literacy of the management ........ these appear to be low-life people with “0” business ethic, or etiquette. BE WARNED! I do not have any experience with their product but, it can't justify their behavior. more

Buyer be VERY Aware 5/20/2011

Walked in at 4 Pm on a Friday. Told the guy I wanted a used Milsurp rifle to pick upo the next day for a shooting match on Sunday. Found one, bought it. Then the guy hands me my reciept and says "see you next week to pick it up". I asked what? I was getting it the next day! He said Illinois has a 24 hour law, and they close at 3 on Saturdays. I said I am out of town the following week, would be at least 2 weeks before I could get it! I know this, I LIVE in Illinois! What I had no idea about was his Saturday hours! I said I can have one shipped online cheaper and have it closer to home but wanted to support local business and could someone be there at 4. I was told NO! I said, OK, Ill just return it now then. He said there is a 15% RESTOCKING fee! I said the rifle is SITTING right where it was when I bought it! Its ALREADY STOCKED! He said too bad. I could come back later in the week or pay the money to return it. 5 minutes AFTER I bought it! I informed him that I told him when I walked in that I needed the thing the next day! He couldnt tell me he closed 3 hours earlier than normal when I told him this? I said, Ill be back for it. However, I have a few friends looking for Ar's and this will cost you alot more in lost sales than the handful of dollars he would get ripping me off. Nope. I could come back, or lose my 15% ! Tisi is THE OWNER! Not to mention I will NEVER buy a thing there as long as he owns the place. And believe me, I buy guns ALOT. Customer service is not a concept there., the people are rude. 2 guys told my buddy they hated working there because of this guy. He told them to look around, and it sucks to have to work for a tyrant. NO wonder the guys behind the counter dont care. The owner doesnt care! They lost my business for GOOD. more

Good/Fair experience but would avoid in future 12/27/2006

Purchased a rifle at "R Guns" in 2004 and what was advertised as a Springfield Armory NM M1A was actually a Loaded model -- physical differences are very slight without disassembly. I didn't realize the model was incorrect until I had fired it. Approached the store to try and resolve and they weren't particularly friendly or helpful. I had fired it so didn't expect them to refund, etc. but expected an admission of fault and either some money back or something to offset. I contacted Springfield directly and they confirmed the serial number as Loaded instead of NM. Their business model is NOT customer service. If you purchase through them make certain you are getting what you expect and be careful. I filed with the Illinois Attorney General's Office informationally since per "R Guns'" return policy they were not required to do anything. Partly my fault and I admit to that.... lesson learned that I would do future purchases from a Gun, Archery & Tackle shop. Locals know who I mean. more
