Callahan's is a typical Irish themed pub. They have a nice selection of imported beers and whiskeys and have reasonably priced drink specials most nights of the week. They also serve decent pub food (burgers, sandwhiches, fried appetizers, etc) until 10 pm. The waitresses are very friendly, and they have 2 big screen tvs usually showing sports.

Campus Comics is a very conveniently located comic book store. They have a good selection of the normal superhero comics. They also have some anime and graphic novels. They also have a large selection of used comics and some comic book related toys. It's worth it to stop in the store of you are close by.

If you like Chinese food, you will love this restaurant. The owner, Carmen, is an immigrant from Taiwan who opened this restaurant in the 1980s to support her family. She uses fresh vegetables and meat in her cooking, but even better is that Carmen comes out to visit with her guests during dinner! Many of her diners are regulars who have fallen in love with her food. The restaurant is very small and intimate, seating about 30-40 people maximum. By the way, if you ever wonder about what to order when there the Green Bean Chicken is very, very good!! Someone turned me on to it a couple of years ago and it is one of my favorites.

This not-for-profit does a lot of good things for the community, like offering (Catholic-based) counsling, and I have seen them giving away for free bags of supplies for stuggling mothers such as toys, diapers, and food. I will gently warn you though that they offer to help pregnent monthers in crisis, but they are religious and will lean towards there views obviously.
