For a Mexican restaurant, El Bajio is one of the best in the area. Great service and great food! They have a great selection of food, including appetizers, entrees, deserts, and drinks! The cost of the food is very reasonable.

Wise Guys does not seem too appealing from the outside, but serves fabulous pizza late at night. For $2 you receive a huge slice of scrumptious pizza. Normally I do not like to associate a pizza place serving subs as well, but their subs are also mouth watering. With the little space that Wise Guys has, the service is also fast.

O.k, it will cost you at least thirty dollars to get a cut but it is so worth it. if you are gonna spurlge or spoil yourself, do it here! They will pamper you better than anyplace and make you feel like a celebrity. I recommend always calling ahead instead of walking in and watch the local papers for coupons.

I highly recommend visiting Cristaudo's, if only for their ledgendary pink cookies. They serve delicious gourmet coffee and have a large selection of other tasty baked goods like brownies and lemon bars as well as many other cookies. They also have many varieties of bread, bagels, and muffins. I've never eaten their hot food in the store, but I've been to several events that they catered and the food was awesome.

Rosetta Stone is basically the only place in Carbondale where you can find more obscure art, design, and music magazines. They also have a selection of books as well as DVDs for rent. The DVDs, I believe are way too expensive, but unless you have Netflix, there is no other way to get obscure art films in the backwater town.
