This is the best store to find ANY type of book or magazine you can imagine. They have a great children's selection, and my favorite a great mystery selection. They also have audio books, and hundreds of different magazines. The best part? You can sit and read your book in the store without interruptions!

O.k, it will cost you at least thirty dollars to get a cut but it is so worth it. if you are gonna spurlge or spoil yourself, do it here! They will pamper you better than anyplace and make you feel like a celebrity. I recommend always calling ahead instead of walking in and watch the local papers for coupons.

Really nice friendly staff, and located right off campus. If you go to SIU there is no reason to buy climbing gear anywhere else. If you found a deal somewhere or something talk to them because they can probably match it, and if they don't have what your looking for in stock they can order it for you (even better than buying online). Support your local retailer and shop at Shawnee trails.

I highly recommend visiting Cristaudo's, if only for their ledgendary pink cookies. They serve delicious gourmet coffee and have a large selection of other tasty baked goods like brownies and lemon bars as well as many other cookies. They also have many varieties of bread, bagels, and muffins. I've never eaten their hot food in the store, but I've been to several events that they catered and the food was awesome.

True, this store is not even a quarter the size of Rural King down on the other side of town, but they are friendly folks and it serves its purpose. They offer seasonal plants and any type of feed, litter or bedding that you could imagine. This store is located in Wahington Square so bve aware that you will have to pay a meter to park here.

Rosetta Stone is basically the only place in Carbondale where you can find more obscure art, design, and music magazines. They also have a selection of books as well as DVDs for rent. The DVDs, I believe are way too expensive, but unless you have Netflix, there is no other way to get obscure art films in the backwater town.
