My husband and I keep a fleet of mechanic-killers...two Lincoln parts-hogs (7 and 12 years old), a Chevy truck that has outlived its first chassis, and three antique British roadsters that would like to be hangar queens if allowed. We take reasonable care of our vehicles, but we also work them pretty hard. They need a fair amount of attention to keep them road safe and reliable. Karen and her crew keep these contraptions running, get us in and out of the shop with amazing turn around time, and never flinch when we beg to be wedged into an already packed schedule. They are versatile and up-to-date, tackling computerized fuel injector engines and dual carb 4-bangers with equal aplomb. Somehow they manage to find parts for Triumphs that haven't been in production for 30 and 40 years. They have gone above and beyond the normal range of service, even accepting delivery of an aluminum trailer erector set and assembling it for us, including custom work to fit a motorcycle cage on the deck. There is no business or professional service in Carbondale that can boast a more honest, hard-working, cooperative interface with its customers. If Ms. Greenburg goes out of the automotive repair businesss, I am going back to riding a bicycle!

I am amazed at the service and caring that I have received from this company. The people here act as if my car is the only one and that I am at the top of the priority list. Karen is so nice and congenial. I am a shade-tree mechanic but anything I can't handle I would recommend to anyone to take their car to GATOR.

My son who is in college hit something and bent his rim and blew out his tire. Being 5 hours away I was a little worried about car places down there. From the beginning the owner Karen called and kept me informed, no hidden costs, and work done on a timely manner, and my son has his car back. Highly recommend this place, very professional and you get what you pay for. Thanks Karen and staff, what a wonderful place to go.

Karen is great and the mechanics do top notch work. It makes me feel good to support a local business and I always recommend Gator to everyone I know!

Brought my 98 Honda Civic in because the engine light wouldn't go off. Have not enjoyed my past experiences with our local Honda dealer and had been looking for someone else with who to work. GATOR was recommended by four different people (different ages, genders, and ethnicity). This was important to me as I've been assumed to be incapable of mechanical intelligence. When the engine light came on, I read the manual and did all the things suggested to determine the problem. Light still on. So I did some internet research and discussed the situation with others. Without testing, I knew what the possible diagnoses were from least intrusive to most expensive. Karen treated me well. She did not assume I knew too much or too little. She told me her time frame. She called me with the diagnoses and the estimated cost. She was right where I had researched. I accepted her quote. I was charged what I expected when I arrived to pick up my car. The car is in great shape, and better yet, I have found a place I can go, I can trust, and I AM THRILLED.

I have had many different vehicles over a 25 year period serviced by George and Karen and their staff at Gator Automotive. I have always found them to be highly competent, reasonable, and honest. Mechanics who aren't wouldn't stay in business in a small town that long. Interesting that the single critical post is by someone who won't even give their name. I wouldn't trust my car to anyone else in this town.

I acted out of frustration with this company. I should have gotten in touch with Karen first. There are discrepancies about repairs where I feel that I was taken advantage of. I mean, really, who leaves a wrench in a vehicle and retorts, wow, that was a $3(something) wrench?
