I got my nose pierced at Nathan's and was so pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism with which I was treated. I was told exactly how to care for my piercing (which was different from what they were saying a decade ago -- it all made perfect sense to me). I got quite an education about the do's and don'ts and the world of piercings and nose rings, etc. Even though I got my piercing only 1 month or less before my Indian wedding and I didn't even follow all the after-care instructions, my nose was in good shape for the wedding!!!! I highly recommend Nathan's.

I'd like to share my tattoo nightmare and warn against going to Nathan's Tattoo shop. Right before my wedding Javier, a tattoo artist at Nathans, botched up a tattoo cover up job and the shop (Nathan himself) has refused to do anything about it except for have the same artist try to fix it!!! The tatoo artist talked me out of a simple cover up plan and said he would have my arm complete and looking beautiful for my expensive wedding after the one session. I explained I was wearing a pricey sleeveless wedding gown. The tattoo artist began smoke *** halfway thru the job. The shop was deserted but for his guy friends that stopped by. His girlfriend eventually came by as well. She talked to Javier and had his friends leave and I nervously asked her to stay as Javier seemed extremely agitated and stoned at that point (i had no idea why...he just suddenly became nasty). She stayed for about an hour as she felt sympathetic to my situation and her boyfriends behavior. That night Javier refused to complete the job he started after becoming intoxicated...He left my arm a disaster. He informed me he would not complete it for a month as it would need to heal first. I was horrified and spent the days before my wedding crying. I had to hide my arm from everyone. I had a custom made sweater made to wear with my wedding dress. I have been left with no other choice than to have it removed as a few other artists have said NOTHING can be done to fix my botched arm without laser removal. The design Javier chose to cover my old piece was not what we discussed at all. I wanted a replica...he totally redrew the budist female figure in his own way making her fat and giving her weird frankenstein hair... and as i said he left her totally unfinished. He added in areas of solid black shapes that look as though a five year old got a hold of a sharpie...they are not at all like the beautiful Japanese designs he explained that he would use to fill in the negative space. I had specifically asked him if it would be complete in that ONE night as I would be married in the days to come and he said it would. He sent me off to my wedding with an embarrassing botch job...a random mass of black ink sarcastically filling the middle of my arm. Over the last year and a half I have been forced to wear long sleaves through all kinds of weather ... no respectable tattoo artist felt it could be fixed. My arm gets 2 inches thicker after laser treatments. Not to mention the pain, swelling and blistering. I cry through every session. My arm is scarred where the laser was done. The owner of Nathans Tattoo shop in Canoga Park Nathan was very rude about the whole thing. He only offered to have that same tattoo artist try to fix it!!! as if i would actually agree to that. this has cost me so much money... It has been an emotional nightmare!

Okay, I finally did it ~ got my navel pierced. My daughter also pierced hers. And, we were handled with kindness, patience and thoroughness. The staff made recommendations toat would prove less-profitable for them, and healthier for us. We took it! This is a neat place with all the stuff you need to feel comfortable adding expressions to your flesh.
