If you are looking for rice balls, nori, mochi, cheap tofu, Pocky of all kinds, fancy Japanese face creams, or a wide selection of Japanese magazines, Kotobukiya's your place. Whether you're from Japan, lived there for a while or just dabbling you'll find something interesting here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Little stickers translating the object's name are on the back of most food packets (which is good if you're thinking, "What IS that?"). The onigiri (triangular rice balls with cooked fish wrapped in nori) are especially tasty and sit in baskets on the freezer case. There's a huge variety of Japanese candy and dried foods, and you can get the best stainless steel tweezers ever here in the personal care section.

Looking for a Japanese grocery store? This is the place for you. The supermarket is conveniently located right next to Porter Square T station. Even though the store is quite small but its friendly store attendants and the variety of things they sell make them an ideal place for people to get their Japanese groceries needs. Even if you do not want to buy any Japanese grocery needs, this place is definitely worth a visit. Recommended.

Another great place to get your japanese fix. They have a good selection of fresh and dried goods. Plus miscellaneous electrics and car accessories. Staff is friendly and the store is always clean. They carry other goods from other asian cultures, so it's not just japanese. Good place to try out your japanese reading skills, in trying to decipher the packages.
