I've had several experiences with poor service at this establishment, but the house brewed Forbidden Fruit keeps bringing me back for more... I can't say all the servers are bad, bucause i've had good experiences as well, but I recommend you give it a shot, even if just for the beer!

My wife and I took a trip to Burlington recently because we'd like to move there. With pubs like this and Ri Ra's (also in Portland, ME), I can see I'm going to enjoy this town. I recommend the Red Burly Irish Ale, apparently one of the Vermont Pub and Brewery's most popular brews. My wife (who rarely find a beer she likes) loved the raspberry ale. The bar indoors seemed cozy, but being that it was a beautiful summer evening, we sat outdoors on the patio. I enjoyed the alternative pub grub: i had an organic, locally-raised angus beer burger, and my wife had the Portabella Bird's Nest, which was quite the healthy comfort food. We also split the sweet potato fries, which I highly recommend as well. This was definitely not the last time we'll be stopping by here. Pros: Beer, Food, Service, Great Prices Cons: None!

The triple smoked stout is outstanding! It keeps a perfect head all the way down the glass. Steve Miller (The Brewmaster) did a great job creating this gem of a brew. I wanted to take a keg back to Ohio with me. Stop in for a brew or two on your next visit to Burlington. Pros: Outstanding stout, good food and service. Cons: Can't take a keg of stout home on the plane.
