Stacks restaurant is one the the more popular restaurants in Burlingame. If you are planning to come here, make sure to come early! It is usually always packed on weekends. With that said, Stacks serves some of the best breakfast around. My family and I always come here for a good hearty breakfast for lunch meal. The service is great and the restaurant is nice. I would recommend the potatoes and the frittatas as well as the pancakes. All of the food here is very fresh tasting and they give breakfast a unique modern twist. Try this place out, but don't be discouraged with the long wait!

This is a great breakfast place and very comparable to Mama's in San Francisco (although Stacks has a more extensive menu). Although you will probably have to wait for a table, they provide seating so you can wait outside and take your name down so you don't have to wait in a line (like at Mama's). They also give you an approximate wait time which is usually on point so you can also walk around and look into all the stores nearby.

Pros: Easy parking for $2 across the street, good food
Cons: Long, long wait.

If you are from the peninsula, Stacks may be a good place to eat. Given the lack of better places I suppose it'll do. Consider this; if you took the amount of time you spent waiting for a seat you could have been in the city already. Been there a few times over the years because friends, who are from the peninsula, wanted to go there. I can't remember exactly what I had, it wasn't bad but not good enough to remember, sorry.
If you are from the city I can't recommend going out of your way to make it there. If you are in the area, sure why not, the food is good enough. You will most likely end up there because your peninsula friends who don't know any better will coerce you to meet them there.
Bottom line:
- it's decent enough
- the food is ok
- portions are large
- portions are great for big eaters and or heavyweights
- better than you average place
- loooong waits
Pros: Portions, a good peninsula eatery.
Cons: Long waits not comensurate with quality.

I heard rave reviews of this place and as a big breakfast lover, I had to try it out myself. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy but the wait was only 30 minutes. It's in a good location cause during your waiting time you can go shopping in the stores nearby. They even have self served coffee set outside for people waiting. The waffles were to die for! So delicious and really good price, similar to IHOP prices but the food at Stacks are so much better and a lot fresher esp their fruits! After eating, I realized why there was a wait because everyone wants to indulge and savor their delicious food. Must try!! So worth the wait!
Pros: can get very busy on weekends

A bunch of my friends swear by Stacks (both in Burlingame and in Redwood City) and I just don't get it. The prices are high, given the relatively small amount of food you get, and although breakfast food is tasty, it's not that much better than you would get elsewhere (personally, I think the Millbrae Pancake House is much better).
Stacks in Burlingame is always crowded, parking is where you can find it on the street (usually not too bad, but sometimes you have to walk a block or two), it doesn't seat too many people, so there's usually a wait, and the place closes at 2pm, even on weekends! So what's the attraction?
Sure, it's a step up from an IHOP, but it's not the end-all, be-all of breakfast places...
PROS: Good breakfast dishes
CONS: Small, overpriced portions, limited hours, limited occupancy

On the weekends there is always a wait of 30 minutes to an hour but it is definitely worth the wait. The staff is friendly and quite fast when it comes to turning tables around. As soon as a group leaves they have that table ready for another group. So the only reason you are waiting is because everyone is busy enjoying their great meals.
Pros: Great Food

This is a great place to enjoy breakfast. I personally love their waffles and find them to be unique as they offer various types of waffles, with nuts and fruit toppings. Its a little pricey, but I've never felt like I wasn't getting what I paid for. Plus they have good orange juice and that makes all the difference in the world to me.
