My wife and I went to the Original Pancake House this morning. We had one lousy experience with their branch on Niagara Falls Blvd (the food was not cooked well), but we would like to give it a try in this one on Main Street, Williamsville.
We were very wrong. It was a even BIGGER mistake.
On our way in, we were 2nd in line for a seat. Then we saw a very strange thing - two young people left 2 dollars on the table without even touching their silverware, and walked away. I thought maybe they were in a hurry of something. Later, we were seated, and our orders taken. We kept on waiting for another 20 minutes. No food, no refill of our drinks, and the waitresses never showed up to explain why.
While we were waiting, I noticed something. The African American couple sitting near us is the only other table that was not served with food. All the white people, even the ones that came later than us, even those who sat down 10 minutes after we did, got food. Not only did they get food, but they were constantly visited by their waitresses for drink refills and whatnot. Only two tables of "colored" people are ignored.
We were very upset, and decided to leave. We could not find our waitress. We could not find anyone in the front counter. It rained very hard outside, and we were kind of hungry, but we left anyway. This restaurant is the WORST I have ever been to. I do not suggest they are racists, but I think they did a very poor job taking care ALL the customers. I will let all my friends know that it has such a poor service and lousy attitude. I will NEVER go there again.
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Poor Service

I recently visited the pancake house with my 3 children We have been going there for years even though we have had other bad food instances (hair, dead insects in drinks) This visits bottom line, hair in childs choc chip pancakes resulting in throwing up, spoiling everyone else's appetite after we rec our overpriced food. Now her clothes are stained which, cost more than the 7.25 they SHOULD have refunded. Customer beware! The manager didn't even have the nerve to come and speak with me personally. It was very unprofessional.

Sure theres a wait when people go for breakfast on Sunday morning, but for years my family and I have gone here for dinner on Mother's day, there's absolutely no wait! My favorite thing would have to be the Apple Pancake..... or the Mushroom Omlette.
Gotta have the fresh squeezed orange juice!
Pros: GREAT food, GREAT service, pretty empty for dinner
Cons: Just don't try to go for breakfast on Mothers day.

This place gets very, very, very (VERY) busy on Sunday mornings, so if you're going to go on a Sunday, be prepared to wait.

This place gets very, very, very (VERY) busy on Sunday mornings, so if you're going to go on a Sunday, be prepared to wait.
Before I talk about the food and service, let me give you a few tips:
1) They're REALLY busy, there's a dry erase board up and you write your name and how many in your party on it. If you DON'T you'll NEVER get seated!
2) Like the rest of the area restaurants, this is a NON-SMOKING restaurant
3) The parking lot is of a fairly good size, but if they're busy, it's tough to find parking. DO NOT park in the lots of the other businesses around it, they will tow your car!
Now, down to the food:
1) Coffee - the very best in the area. Smooth, but strong, served with REAL cream and you can have as many refills as you want
2) Apple Pancake - enough for two people, the best thing on the menu
3) Dutch Baby - enough for two people, they'll show you how to assemble it properly
4) The Omelettes - they are baked in the oven, so they are HUGE and poofy, and enough for two people.
5) Pancakes with Ligonberries - out of this world!
6) Crepes - all of their crepes are of an excellent quality and delicious
They also serve lunch and dinner, but breakfast is the BEST meal to have here.
The service is top-notch, excellent, attentive, friendly, fast, but not too fast.
This place is pricey, but the food is abundant and of the best, highest quality you can find anywhere.

I really like this Original Pancake House better than the one on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The quality of food seems better and the restaurant has a nicer and cleaner interior, even though this place has been around longer. I love that they serve fresh squeezed orange juice and that they use real silverware. Their coffee is very good and they serve big portions of those delicious Atkin's unfriendly carbs that are just so irresistible. They also have eggs and meats and other breakfast favorites that you can order on the side that are good too. It can get a little pricey for breakfast foods, but trust me, it's totally worth it.

This is the best breakfast in town. No one makes a better omelet, and it is gigantic. (Why do some reviewers criticize portions that are too big? There is no rule that says you have to finish.)... More

Expect long waits at peak times. I will agree that this place is pricy for breakfast, but you get what you pay for. Go to Denny's if you want to save money.
