My fiancee took me to Adam's Rib for Valentine's Day. It is a real cozy (small) environment and the smell was great walking in. Unfortunately everything changed after hanging up our coats. We had to walk up and down the length of the restaurant looking for a hostess, before we finally asked the bartender who pointed her out. Upon check in, they did not have any record of our reservation made over a week prior. The lady's attitude made us feel that we were really putting her out. It didn't get better from there. She pointed us over to the bar where we waited for an hour, watching couple after couple come in to be seated. We got the impression that unless you are a "regular" here, expect 2nd class service. We were finally seated at a table by the kitchen door. We asked for the prime rib (after all, the restaurant is called Adam's Rib!). Our server apologized and said the hostess was supposed to tell us they ran out of prime rib. HUH??? We ordered the NY Strip and filet mignon. In fairness, they were decent sized and tasty, although at this point in the evening most things would taste good. The bottom line: Considering the pricier menu and less than average customer service, I'd find another place for a good steak.
