Portillo's is a really great hot dog joint in Buena Park. My favorite thing to get is the Maxwell Street Polish on french bread(trust me. you HAVE to get it on french bread. WAY BETTER) with extra grilled onions. It's really yummy. If you don't like mustard, this will make you like mustard. It did for me. The people that work there are all friendly. Stop by!

I've never really been a huge hot dog fan but once I tried Portillo's that completely changed. Their hot dogs are definitely unique and definitely not average. They put so many toppings on these things that it's almost like eating a sandwich. The first bite will be just a burst of flavor in your mouth and you won't want to put it down. I would list the stuff they put on these things but I think you should go and find out for yourselves. Everything else on the menu is good too but the hot dogs are the main attraction in my eyes. Go check it out!

On my last visit to the city of Chicago, I sampled different Italian beef and combo sandwiches and all of them were great. When I found out that the Chicago based Portillo's had a restaurant in Buena Park, my buddies and I piled into my car and headed down the 5 freeway. The Portillo's in BP is as close as you will get to a real Chicago style Italian beef or combo sandwich. The place was packed and the food reminded me of Chicago. However, I don't know if it was the location or the city but the sandwiches didn't taste as memorable as the ones in Chicago. First timers, you have to go with either the Portillo's hot dog, the beef sandwich, or the beef combo sandwich. Pros: Chicago Style beef sandwich and hot dogs Cons: I have to drive far to eat here but I'll do it once in awhile

Born and raised in the burbs of Chicago (like Villa Park, IL) where Portillo's got its start. Everything on their menu is a signature Portillo item. Of course the Hot Dogs with everything plus sport peppers. Never catsup unless your under 14 years old. The cheeseburgers with all the fresh toppings. Fries and Onion rings always special. Super thick milkshakes. But the 2 things I must have are the Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich with sweet peppers and the Chocolate cake. Yes Mrs Portillo's triple chocolate recipe at a hot dog joint ! Now if they served "Browns" fried chicken I would live in the parking lot. Pros: Childhood Memories, True Chicago Food Cons: Only one outside of Chicago, No Browns fried chicken
