i've been in and out of roy's service dept for 15 years now, and never had anything to complain about - the guys and girls working there know what they're doing and are willing to go the exta few steps to help in any way they can. i try to take care of most of my bike maintenance myself, however when a job is outside my expertise, this is the only place in brooklyn i would trust it to - riding the busy streets of brooklyn and manhattan i can't afford to have something critical on the bike malfunction in the wrong place at the wrong time.
i never bought a bike from them, so i can't rate the sales portion of the shop.

This bike shop mainly does repairs. I'm not sure if they actually sell bikes, maybe used ones, but definitely not new ones. They guy who runs it is pretty nice and he knows how to fix bikes. One time my friend brought his wheel in to get rebuilt and the guy was going to rebuild it, but then he never did. he gave my friend a loaner wheel, but since he never rebuilt the other wheel, my friend just ended up keeping the loaner. It all worked out in the end.

This of this place as Modells but cheaper! Can that even be true? Infact yes! I can tell you I am a very stingy shopper and do a lot of price comparison shopping so believe me when I say this place is cheap. The store itself is quite large with an inventory to match. You can find anything here from baseballs to hockey skates to running sneakers. The only downfall is the employees are quite immature and do not give much customer service.

I have shopped here for years, they are one of those stores that is rock solid reliable. Prices are good and sometimes they have end of season selections that are cheaper tham cheap.
I must also point out that my son is autistic, loud and not well behaved. They have always been nice about things and helped us.

When you stop by the shop, you'll usually be greeted by one of the courteous staff members and be offered assistance, and if you have any questions, you can always feel at ease knowing you're going to get an experienced and honest opinion. They brew Mud coffee in the mornings and sell skate and snowboards, skate and snow apparel in the afternoon, and do skateboarding lessons on the weekends. During the winter they run day trips to various mountains to go snowboarding or skiing. Constantly involved in the community and keeping it real in Brooklyn. A great skateshop with a really awesome vibe.
Pros: Awesome selection and variety
Cons: no skatepark right around the corner

This store is conveniently located in Kings Plaza and seems very large and has just about anything you would need for any kind of sport, along with sneakers and other apparel. The only reason I'm giving them only 3 stars is because the 3 times I've been there in the past few weeks, there is absolutely nobody around to help you.
My son just started soccer. He never played before so I had no idea what kind of cleats to get or what size to get him. I had to go without him because he was in school. It would have been nice if a salesperson was around to ask if I needed help, especially since I was just standing there with a puzzled look on my face. The store was empty and I thought someone would be around, especially since I was even standing near the door where the employees go in and out, but not a soul was around. I didn't feel like going all the way to the cash register to ask for help with my daughter fussing in her stroller, so I took a guess and bought a pair a size too large. Fortunately they fit.
They are pretty good with returns and I had no problem bringing back a pair of soccer socks that turned out to be the wrong color.

Neil has been thinking of taking their instructor training. You will have a wonderful time. Tell them Neil and Karen sent you when you go there.

the shop is well equipped scuba and tech diving facility. the owner has lots and lots of knowledge and experience. he is leading 3-4 dive trips every year, you should try shark diving in Carolina.
stingray offer also great variety of paint ball equipment. they will take you to paint ball field once a week and teach you every thing you need to know. they even fix guns and do great job.
did i say they are very friendly?

I searched my neighborhood for an exercise mat to give as a gift and this store was the only one within a couple of miles that carried it. I spoke with a staff member on the phone and they were helpful and friendly. When I went to pick it up, I was surprised at how small the store is--mostly carries a little inventory of a lot of different things. I recall seeing few apparel choices. They had the mat, exactly as described on the phone and were quite helpful overall. Only "con" is that it seems they have a small selection of things. Call ahead.

The greatest sport equipment store in the neighborhood. They have almost all the goods related to sports. They have a huge selection of goods and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The staff know there stuff and don't try to sell you things you don't need. This is a great place to shop for gifts for any sports fan. Their location may not be ideal but this is a great store.
