I took a trip to Brooklyn with some friends to try out Peter Luger Steak House after seeing all the awesome reviews it got on Judys Book. I would have to agree with all the reviews that this was the best steak ever!! The porterhouse was the best and the side dishes were just amazing. The service was very friendly, fast, and efficient and really accommodated to all of our needs. Reservations are a must and you should know your going in advance. Truly the best steak ever!

If you or your man is a steak lover, this place is for you! If you have a special occasion or want to go here on a day that most people go out to eat, make sure to make reservations far in advance. They don't take credit cards which is their only bad point, but maybe they will change that soon. When you call, they will tell you when they have the book open reservations for the date you want.

This is the absolutely best steak I have ever eaten. They only serve a porterhouse and with a side of onions and the dipping sauce, to die for. If you want fish or chicken this is not the place to go, it's not happening. Don't want steak, the only option are lamb chops. Expensive and you must have a reservation, try early evening during the week. No plastic, just green. On street parking used to be easier but now that Williamsburg is chic, go for valet.

For more than a decade running, Peter Luger has been voted for having the best steak in America.
Die hard steak mongers would vote for this steakhouse hands down. Quality choice cuts of beef melt in your mouth. One can argue that other steakhouses rein supreme, but don't slam Lugers until you try their meat.
The thing to order there is the porterhouse for two. Side dishes are ordered a la cart and are very tasty. Steaks come with a huge slice of onion and tomato in addition to thier excellent dipping sauce.
Make sure you bring your wallet with that emergency cash compartment. Bring extra cash and only cash. No plastic here.

If you're trying to find this place...you can't miss the huge ad painted on the side of the building coming off the Manhattan bridge marks the spot. This restaurant is also very old school, cash only and expect to spend about $60 per person with appetizers, $80+ with drinks. My favorite is the dry-aged porterhouse steak. These come out sizzlin on a HOT plate drenched in butter. The aromas are amazing and it will probably be one of the most tender meats you'll ever taste, these literally just melt in your mouth! Cream of spinach, tomato and onions also make a good side dish. But you'll need to make reservations at least 2 months in advance, prepare for a wait even after you make reservations this place is packed!
