It's been a bit since I went, as "my" hairstylist left the operation a couple months back and I'm hestiant to drop $50 on someone who hasn't been recommended.
As with any salon, it's really more about "your" person there rather than the business itself, which makes a review a bit tricky. I can confidently say Christina was awesome - always gave me a cut I liked, and was quite cute and friendly to boot. But I can also say that I haven't been strongly tempted to return since she left.
I choose to spend my money on certain things - say, photo gear for my profession - and not a whole lot on, say, clothes. Typical to a salon, I felt a bit "judged" walking in there, and seemingly as someone who was not quite cool enough for the counter person. I always find this ironic, because though I dress a bit like an I.T. professional, I actually work in fashion and probably know more "important people" than they do. I don't really care about such things - but it makes me smile inwardly when people like that seem to be judging me as less cool-and-connected than themselves.
It's the only local place I know to buy Aveda products - so if you want them, this is pretty much your place to go. However, as it is the only local place, the prices reflect it; there's not a deep discount on product.
I only ever had Christina do my hair, so I can't say what other's prices run - but she charged me $40 for a guy's haircut, so I'm extrapolating that into a guess that a girl could expect to pay $60-$100, depending upon what she wants (more for highlights, etc) and who does it.
Note: I was always required to provide a credit card number when reserving by phone and was told their would be a charge for last-minute cancellations. Be warned.
Note 2: There's also a spa, but though my girlfriend got me a gift certificate I have yet to cash it in, so cannot comment on that. I will add that information once I've used the gift.

I have tried many weight loss programs that did not work for me. I did nutri system, jenny craig; weight watchers etc but because I had so much cravings they did not work for me. With Medical Weight Loss Ctr, I have no cravings and am medically supervised all the way. Weight just seem to be melting away.
Pros: Lose weight in a short period of time with no cravings
Cons: There are no drawbacks for me

This place is a gem in Brooklyn! It stands out with its pleasant and elegant ambiance along with its genuine customer service! I have never received in my life such a thorough, professionally done facial, executed with knowledge competence and commitment. They put thought behind every skin-related challenge! Moreover, the esthetician explains and accentuates on your problem areas so delicately, leading you carefully step by step during the process, so that you learn to "hear the voice" of your skin. My skin is hyper sensitive and my greatest fear in life is to have scars after blackheads cleaning, but the delicacy with which my face was treated left my skin glowing and rejuvenated. I could not resist looking at myself in the mirror. In addition, I am an eyebrow fetish and this place is the Mecca for my eyebrows. Margo is the most gifted facial perfectionist and eyebrow designer I have had so far. Amazing approach and they do love what they are doing! I guess it is all about the right attitude, devotion and loving your job!
Pros: Professional Esthetician Service
Cons: none

I love the tattoos I've gotten here. I've been tattooed by Maya, Brian and Lou and I'm thrilled with everything I've gotten there. I've also been pierced by Maya and she's really great, so gentle, considering I had a needle stuck in me at the time!
The shop is clean, the manager is sweet and the artists really kick ass. I would never go anyplace else!
Pros: Amazing artists!

I did not know what to expect when I heard about this salon through a girlfriend of mine and it exceeded all of my expectations!
The staff was adorable and helpful and transformed my look 100%: I went from a brassy blonde to sassy brunette in 2 hours--the stylist was flexible and even rearranged her schedule to accommodate me.
I love the music and their welcoming atmosphere. Complimenti Ragazze!
Grazie mille ancora per un bellissimo lavoro!
Pros: Great staff, location, and ambience!
Cons: None

I got my first Brazilian there (8/23/07) and i was actually scared that it would be horrible after all the stories i heard, But I wont lie, it was painful but not nearly what people had said. I didnt take any pain killers or drinks. What was very helpful was the fact that the young woman doing the waxing talked to me while she did it. We talked about labor pains, working, stripping (well the fact that male strippers get brazilians too), etc... She kept me laughing. The waxing was not long and drawn out either. I believe i was done in less than a half hour. All in all it went well. The place is actually located in a great area and their presentation is great (the place setup is very chic). The staff there are very friendly, the place was very clean, I really was pleased just with walking in the door. You cant go wrong here. They will definitely see me back in 6 weeks.
Pros: Location (I found parking in minutes at a meter), knowledgeable, and Price.
Cons: They honestly have none.

I was referred to this place by a co-worker for eye lash application. Since that first visit, I have not only become a loyal patron, I refer my bridal clients and friends to them for special day beauty pampering.
Great and professional staff. Cool Decor. Although the space is small, it is very nice.
If you need to stretch out, thier space on Vanderbuilt Ave is much larger.
Pros: Great staff
Cons: Small space

SO AMAZING. Got the hot stone massage, which was by far the best deal I've seen on one in the city at $85/hour. It was unbelievably good, atmosphere was great. Definitely the best massage I've had in NYC. Evening hours are great too for an after-work massage.
