Here's a trick to save a little money! Get the facial and a 30 minute massage. The facials have sooo much massage in them it's like you had a full 60 minute massage by the time youre done. It's not like they are skimping on the facial either. The facialists use the downtime when you are steaming or masking to really rub your feet, hands, calves, arms and scalp. The scalp massage is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. So, book the massage first, end with the facial and it feels like you were there for hours, and you save a little money. I'm totally happy to have found this place!

There is a very nice atmosphere at Sally Monsour, relaxed, personal, quiet. You get the full attention you deserve unlike many other spas that have people running around all over the place. 5 stars.

Dharma is a wonderful place to get a massage. The staff (Lauren and Lindsey) are both super nice and really helpful. Before each massage you fill out a form about where you have pain / discomfort / etc. and they talk to you about where you need work and what they think the best approach for your issues are. They also talk to you during the massage to make sure the pressure is good and they are not hurting anything as they work. They are obviously both very well trained in human physiology and really help you to feel better and I highly recommend Dharma Healing Arts!
Pros: Great staff, nice atmosphere, good all around
Cons: None

When you come to get waxed, you want it done well and you want it done fast. A full Brazilian will take you under 7 minutes. It's also nice when it is done for a reasonable price by nice people that make you feel comfortable and safe. The place is clean and the people are no nonsense. Another good part is that you can book an appointment the same day, but they are closed for Jewish holidays. They offer a lot of other services, but I cannot comment on those.

best gym in the area (and probably in entire brooklyn!) I've been a member for 2+ yrs and still very satisfied. Their hours work with my schedule, although 24/7 applies to Mon-Thurs only. Still, more convenient than any other gym! the locker room has all you need after a workout and a shower- from towels, shampoo, etc. to qu-tips, hairspray, deodorant, etc. My only suggestion for them is to place the "butt machine" into a corner, to avoid stares (yes, some men are there mostly to socialize and stare, which i guess is unavoidable in any co-ed gym). Staff are friendly and the classes are great.
Pros: hours, towels, supplies, clean, classes,no wait for machines
Cons: none :)

I went in for a deep tissue massage and it was absolutely fabulous. I came in with a lot of pain and it went away the next day thanks to Leo! I also had a facial by Marina and it was amazing. My skin felt like new and I was recommended products to keep my skin healthy that they sell right in the salon. I was astonished at how good they make my skin feel. With todays economy, the prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be returning.
Pros: great massages, facials and prices
Cons: none

More
It's been a bit since I went, as "my" hairstylist left the operation a couple months back and I'm hestiant to drop $50 on someone who hasn't been recommended.
As with any salon, it's really more about "your" person there rather than the business itself, which makes a review a bit tricky. I can confidently say Christina was awesome - always gave me a cut I liked, and was quite cute and friendly to boot. But I can also say that I haven't been strongly tempted to return since she left.
I choose to spend my money on certain things - say, photo gear for my profession - and not a whole lot on, say, clothes. Typical to a salon, I felt a bit "judged" walking in there, and seemingly as someone who was not quite cool enough for the counter person. I always find this ironic, because though I dress a bit like an I.T. professional, I actually work in fashion and probably know more "important people" than they do. I don't really care about such things - but it makes me smile inwardly when people like that seem to be judging me as less cool-and-connected than themselves.
It's the only local place I know to buy Aveda products - so if you want them, this is pretty much your place to go. However, as it is the only local place, the prices reflect it; there's not a deep discount on product.
I only ever had Christina do my hair, so I can't say what other's prices run - but she charged me $40 for a guy's haircut, so I'm extrapolating that into a guess that a girl could expect to pay $60-$100, depending upon what she wants (more for highlights, etc) and who does it.
Note: I was always required to provide a credit card number when reserving by phone and was told their would be a charge for last-minute cancellations. Be warned.
Note 2: There's also a spa, but though my girlfriend got me a gift certificate I have yet to cash it in, so cannot comment on that. I will add that information once I've used the gift.
