Located on a busy street close to downtown, Yoga People's studio manages to be a calm oasis. Just steps away from the borough's offices, this little studio provides quality instruction. The studio is located up a steep flight of stairs.
They have two studios, so two different styles of classes can be offered at the same time. They have comprehensive children's yoga (starting at age 4) as well as teen yoga.
They teach many styles, but seem to focus on Vinyasa. Angela teaches a great class on Monday afternoons.
Teacher training is also provided. Small changing area in the main vestibule. The rates are average (about $16 per class) and the rooms are well card for and spacious.

If I had a kid, I would take him/her to this spot. It is like a romper room meets ice-cream shoppe, meets coffee shop. The parents get to socialize and the kids get to bounce off of the walls. Advertised as a space to have birthday parties, it is the one place that seems to be original in the neighborhood. Food, fun, music, art, parties, play, I like this place!

I love this theatre! This is my first perfect rating for anything. I gave it to this theatre because I love going there. They always have all the latest movies and is usually not very crowded. If you attend before 5:00 PM on a weekday, then the prices are at a discounted price.
They also have this program where if you become a member, you can earn movie credits every time you go to the theatres. This applies to all United Artist Theatres, but it really is a great offer. Not only can you earn free movie tickets, popcorn, and soda, but you receive a free small popcorn every Tuesday.

Recently renovated in the last 2-3 years or so, this theatre is beautiful! Two floors of movie thetres and a very cleaan place to spend the day. Great place for the family. ZVery courteous workers and also very organized. Many people go to this theatre so be prepared for long lines and sold out movies during peak times. But despite the sold out movies, I love this theatre. Right by the bay where you can also find great eats!

The Thing is a thrift store with clothes, books, furniture and other knick-knacks, but more than half of the store is jam packed with used records. I can't even estimate how many records are in the store, but the entire basement is filled with records from floor to ceiling in shelves and also haphazardly piled on the floor. There is absolutely no organizational system whatsoever, so the chances you will actually find a record you want to buy are quite small, but if you do find one, it will only cost a buck. It is worth see just to marvel over the sheer quantity of records.

They mix it up pretty good here. From kid's movies to blockbusters to art-house flicks, this place has its pulse on the vibe out here in Brooklyn. Their theaters are nice and spacious, cup holders, comfy seating, the works. And there's a great vibe inside the space--a little cafe, charming old-school architecture, etc. It's not the average AMC box apportioned into as many cubes as possible. The staff is pretty friendly as well, and the location (at the corner of Prospect Park) is wonderful! Take a stroll before or after the movie through the park...

St Mark's Comics is no more impressive than other comic stores, but no less impressive either. It carries all the normal stand-bys with no big surprises. The store is well-lit and the comics are relatively easy to sort through. If you are looking for hard-to-find comics, I might try somewhere else.

Whether you just want to spend some time with your family, or some friends, bowling is the way to go, especially in this place. You'll find people of all ages here. They have a little bar, so if you just want to take a breather from your kids, you can always sneak away for a drink. On weekends at night they have cosmic bowling, during which time they have black lights and a DJ playing music, and they give away prizes.
