Kensington is a wonderful stable in Brooklyn. They offer trail rides and lessons and have lots of customers of all levels and ages riding both English and Western. Beginners start riding in the very small indoor ring at the stable, but once they are confortable, can use the large outdoor rings in Prospect Park. The rates are very affordable, and as someone who was very nervous at first, I have to say they are great, patient teachers. The stable does not carry its own insurance for riders, so make sure you're insured -- accidents do happen. The horses are extremely well cared for and loved there.
