I've used others in the past and they have charged me out rages price and I've end up to call Jimmy's to fix there mistakes. Evertime that have fixed the problem without much down time. I've used Expert Center for both purchases (washer/dryer, humidifier, vacuum) and services (appliance repairs) and find them to be professional in every respect. The appliances they sell are top-notch, and they have partners who can install them without damaging your apartment. They don't upsell -- if you tell them your budget, they'll tell you what matches it, and also whether it's worth it to buy extended coverage based on the product line's history (they told me not to bother on one of the purchases I made, even though their profit margin on extended coverage is significant). Needless to say, I like the business and the people who work there, and am pretty surprised by some of the negative reviews. I highly recommend Expert Repair (and they're aptly named)!
Pros: Great work, referrals to other professionals
Cons: A little pricey, but you get what you pay for

They have a really large space, almost warehouse like so that you can go around and try out each bed. They have a great selection from all the name brands like simmons beauty rest, and serta. The prices are pretty good, and they will deliver within the next day if you need the bed. I'd come here just to try out all the beds.

Excellent store, great prices, knowledgable, and very honest staff. Try to deal with the female sales people and owner, or manager. Very experienced, will even help figure out how to redo a kitchen. I've bought everything I've ever owned in appliances there, and I always will as long as they are a round. My viking range, my sub-zero,my miele... they were highly recommended by Drimmers and I love them!!!

Hoffys is a good reliable trustworthy electronics store. They have a very knowledgeable staff and have a good selection. Their prices are competetive. You can get anything from a palm pilot to a cell phone. I've been there a few times and have always been happy with the experience. The only issue you might have is finding a parking spot.

Allcounty is the company my workplace hired to totally redo their heating system. It was a really big job, but they got it done in a reasonable amount of time and without a lot of inconvenience to my co-workers. There was a problem with one of the pipes, and they immediately came back and took care of it right away. They seemed very professional and seemed to know what they were doing. If I ever have a plumbing or heating problem at home, I would definitely call them.

Details: We needed a specific model of range to fit our small space so made the purchase at PC Richards since it was one of the few places with one in stock. They had only one microwave unit available in stock and we needed one of those, too, so even though it was over $100 more expensive than other models we had been considering, we also purchased that at PCR for ease of delivery and installation. We requested early-in-the-day delivery/installation and they put that on the receipt. Well, the range WAS delivered early in the morning, but we were then notified that the installation was a different set of guys and that we'd be phoned later for an update on their ETA. Oh, and by the way...our microwave was out of stock and backordered. We called and found out it would be another week at least before we'd get it and we'd have schedule a new installation for that, so we cancelled the order. As for the installation, the store could give us no info on when that might happen that day. After two hours the installation guys called to say that they would be there anytime from 1 to 5 PM. Kind of a long window by any measure -- even Time Warner narrows it down more than that. When asked if they could tell us where we stood in the order, to give us some idea as we told it would be a morning installation, the guy instantly got angry and said "It's not my problem. That's not a consideration. You'll just have to wait." Nice. So, if ordering multiple appliances, get some kind of guarantee that all the items are in stock AND plan on taking a full day for the delivery. Or, better yet, don't be lazy like we were -- go to Lowe's or Home Depot or Sears. We've ordered other appliances from all three of them here in Brooklyn and got better service and more specific delivery options, including weekend delivery.
Pros: Convenient location / stock varies from dept. store selection
Cons: Misrepresents availabiliy of stock / delivery takes full day of your time
