I have been going to Anne for more then 15 years now. I had always gotten a highlights but recently went to a single color process and love it. I still have multiple tones and the color is shiney without the orange brassiness some other colorists have given me. However, recently I also started purchasing some of the product sold there. The Oasis shampoo and conditioner have given my curly often frizzie hair a terrific shine and control. My favorite product, however is for the face and is called: n-ked glow - The Lift Serum. This has removed crows feet from my eyes and crinkled looking skin on my neck. I use very little every day and immediately you see the results. After a week of continuous use, you see very little wrinkling when you wake up. It is quite miraculous, and I never much believed in miricles!
Tintelations is worth a visit and I am sure you will feel as comfortable as I do from the get go.
Pros: Expert hair coloring, Oasis hair products, n-ked glow face l
Cons: none as far as I am concerned!

I recently went to this bookstore for an author signing event (Chuck Palahniuk, my hero!), and spent over an hour just taking in the wonderful atmosphere of this store. This is definitely a place for book lovers, and not just a store aimed towards people who are looking to buy the latest tabloid or fad diet book. This place really has character!
The Booksmith has a great selection of books (from every genre) to choose from. I was thoroughly impressed with their huge wall section of literary "magazines". They have a downstairs area filled with videos to rent and used books to browse through. There's also a really cool gift section where you can buy something unique for yourself or for a friend. Lots of greeting cards, as well.
I was extremely impressed with this little bookstore, and will definitely be returning. They have great events, with many famous authors, which is a definite plus. You can even bring your dog in with you! I highly recommend this place.

Located in the jewish enclave in Brookline, this store has anything you, or other jewish friends could ever need. While their selection of books is immense, I love the more fun items that can often be found in the store like Hebrew red sox caps and videos for children based on the teachings of the torah. If you're looking for hannukah presents this shop is well worth a trip.

The owner of Mint Julep has made it her mission to find exceptional trendy casual clothes and bring them to Boston when they might not be available at other area boutiques. They carry over 60 different styles of jeans so you can be sure that one of them is perfect for you if you are a discerning female consumer in your 20s.
Brands tend to run the gammut from Seven for All Mankind to Juicy. Definite staples in any trendsetters closet. Jeans can be pricey, but consumers here don't mind plunking down $200+ for a pair.

More
Ethel Weiss has run Irving's since 1939. Irving was her husband. Ethel is now at least 94 and she happily wears a button that reads, "I love my customers."
Irving's is maybe 10 feet wide and 30 feet deep. Ethel usually sits in a chair next to the counter inside, next to the candy display. She carries lots of candy, including some hard to find items. A small box of jawbreakers costs 15 cents - a carton may be $2.
Irving's has small toys and novelty items. In the drawers are cards for almost every occasion, some of them dating back years. Ethel can pull out anything if you ask.
In almost any weather, including right after a blizzard, you can pop into Irving's to talk to Ethel. She loves her customers.
Irving's is between Beacon Street and Commonwealth Avenue, in the "Kosher Corner" section of Brookline.
