The Fireplace, located on the unpretentious Washinton Square near Brookline's Coolidge Corner is a nice restaurant. It is perfect for Boston's chilly winter nights with it's warm ambiance and great comfort food. They have excellent New England cuisine- think mashed potatos and rustic meals with a gourmet twist. They have a cute bar and chic dining room accented by the lovely fireplace on the first floor. Definitely a wintertime favorite.

The aroma immediately pulls you in and tells you this is going to be good. Excellent menu, delicious food and outrageous fresh fruit cocktails.. Unpretentious service, genuinely warm and attentive staff and great summer grill food. Wonders of wonders, they have free parking out back. Not cheap, but worth the price. I would recommed it to anyone.

I went to this restaurant simply because the atmosphere was nice. I thought it was going to be a special occasion because the food was pricey, and it seemed a little on the fancy side. I took the waitress 15 minutes to bring our drinks over. (a chocolate martini we paid 12.50 for) . The menu prices for entrées were between $14-$35 Once we ordered our food, we waited over an hour and my husband fish was raw inside (it was not suppose to be sushi LOL) We sent it back and there recooked the same fish- so when they brought it back it was over cooked and dry- He was so hungry at that point he just decided to eat it. My dish was okay just not worth the money. The quality of food was poor- I would compare it to any food chain- but the prices should be compared to a 5 star restaurant- overall i will never return.
