I was addicted to this place for months when I first moved to Boston. They may have a small selection of food, but everything on their menu is good. A small burrito goes for about $5 when a large is about $6-7. They stuff them with so much stuff it will fill you! Their salsa is to die for. The put just enough cilantro! Even though the line may seem out the door, you will get served in no more then 7 minutes! Watch out, because you may get addicted like I did!

Well, actually, there might be better, but this is one of the best i have eaten in the area.
the slices are really thick, and the fish are really fresh.
i always take my friends out here, and when i was in high-school, i use to come here for lunch during my free-blocks at least three times a week!!
the interior is really elegant, and this restaurant was actually shot a few time in films.
pretty cool place

There is nowhere else that will serve up such large portions of delicious food for prices so low! I don't live in Boston anymore, so I have to eat at extremely second-rate Qdoba if I want a burrito. But every time I go and visit Boston, I have to stop at Anna's. My favorite is the al-pastor burrito! And I love the staff. They are so fast, I almost feel like I'm slowing them down by ordering! I also love the lemonade- refreshing and delicious. This is by far my favorite cheap food place in Boston, if not the whole East Coast.
Pros: Food, service, long lines move quickly, cheap
Cons: none!

Zaftig is a gem. There are still items that I enjoyed years ago when I was a student in Boston that I continue to try to replicate at home. There's an amazing salad with Feta cheese, golden raisins, toasted pine nut and vinaigrette that is just so good. They have all the typical deli stuff - knishes, meatloaf, soups, sandwiches, blintzes - but the decor is so nice and modern; not the kitschy look. The meals are hearty and perfect for a chilly winter night. Try the meatloaf or roasted chicken. They also have all the usual breakfast items and they serve beer and wine. While you're there, check out the artwork. It's very cool.

Awesome Beer Selection and Great Comfort Food. Get the mac and cheese or the fish 'n chips. The bartenders are usually very knowledgeable about matching beers to your tastes.
Pros: Example: best croissants in town

This is my first-time message on this board.
My wife and I had lunch at the Fireplace Restaurant in Brookline (corner of Beacon and Washington).
The lunch was terrific. The conch chowder was some of the best chowder I'd evereaten -- creamy but not too thick, with a nice bacon and herb flavor. The fig-goat
cheese salad, the deep-fried gnocchi with that fresh tomato and pepper
sauce -- it was all great. The way they used herbs was really
special, and I liked the light hand with the salt (most places continue
to oversalt everything). The staff was really nice as well; our
waitress, a blonde young woman, was friendly and hard working. It got crowded.
We'll definitely go again.
Pros: Food, herbs and spices just right, not oversalted

This place was amazing. I went at a slightly after-rush hour (9pm) on a Saturday. The atmosphere was relaxed and efficient. We picked our seat (a leather booth by the window) and immediately were served with olives in oil (great for dipping the warm bread that arrived shortly thereafter). The water came in an old-fashioned glass pitcher and was infused with mint and lemon. The waitress was very good about keeping the water full for us, though the pitcher was on the table if she were ever to be lax about filling it, we could have done it.
The dinner was everything I would have asked for and then some. I couldn't finish my delicious Risotto and my friend's steak was equally as irresistible and large. We both ate and drooled over the leftovers throughout the next day.
This is really a great place, though I can see it being somewhere you would want to frequent only on the off hours. The biggest annoyance was having to run to an ATM for cash at a place where entrees run in the $20s, but there are many ATMs nearby, and the food is ENTIRELY worth it.
Pros: Great food, great atmosphere, great service
Cons: Cash only
