I originally wrote a review that was pretty derogatory in nature re: the pricing of Vizio's lens packages. In the end, with a discount, I ultimately love my glasses. Yes they were pricey, but they're quality.
My concern with this place wasn't with the product, however, it was with the owner's policy. After writing the first review, I received an email that said, in short, since I was so unhappy, I was welcome to take my business elsewhere, and that they would be refunding my money. This was done without my instigation, but rather as a brash response to my review. I replied with "Actually, I would prefer to pick up my glasses today, as previously scheduled. But thank you for reaching out."
Upon picking up my glasses, I was confronted by the doctor who said "You know why we emailed you, and said what we said, don't you?" in a condescending/scolding (yet calm) manner. I felt about the size of my glasses. Regardless of how much money I was spending (which, again, I emphasize was discounted via Groupon), I firmly believe each customer should be treated like royalty - especially if that's their policy.
I clammed up, nodded my head, finished fitting my frames, and left. The entire transaction was uncomfortable and unnerving. They also asked that I write a "fair" review and not "mislead potential customers." Well, I feel I have done just that, and I will leave this review posted. I feel everyone has the right to know that even if they generally have outstanding customer service, there *are* nuances that put a blemish on their name and a bad taste in a customer's mouth.
Pros: Nice glasses and stools
Cons: Staff/Doctor could use a week in charm school

This place is really excellent. I originally came for glasses but realized that they also have sunglasses. I especially thought that the service was amazing. They were super friendly, not pushy, very helpful and even though I was unsure about what I needed, they wrote everything down for me and then I came back few weeks later and got the eyeglasses that I liked most. I really recommend this eyeglass store to anyone looking for a service that is several levels above the rest.

I bought a pair of glasses for my husband, because the glasses are incredibly beautiful. However I almost canceled by purchase based on how rude they were. I told them I wanted to make a surprise and they looked at me ultra condescending, and ignored me during the entire transaction.
On top of that I am 6 months pregnant and wanted to sit next to my husband, they literally laughed at me and asked me to wait standing up (and I am showing my pregnancy pretty well).
They treated my husband extremely nicely, and only asked me to pay.
This made it an EXTREMELY sad experience and even though my husband is thrilled with his glasses I remain very bitter and upset on how I was treated.
Pros: AMAZING glasses
Cons: If you are a woman, you are treated like $@%!

The first person I asked said, "That's a really great question!" Then she told me to call back another day. She didn't know. Maybe she was new. Anyway I called back and was told that Dr. Rabkin was not taking new patients for contacts. She was for glasses but not contacts (?). Why couldn't they say this before? So I asked if I could see her for glasses. No, I couldn't.
She told me not to take it personally and I understand but she just sounded way too fake-sympathetic. Then I asked if she could recommend a doctor and she started looking up surgeons. I said I didn't need a surgeon, just an optometrist who could fit me with progressive contacts and glasses. Is this so odd? They sure acted like it was. She told me to hold and came back with a name. It was for a surgeon.
So I poked around on the web and found another place with great reviews and their website showed nice glasses - I called and they actually WANTED my business. I ended up going there and I'm very satisfied.
I'm sure Dr. Rabkin is terrific, based on the reviews. but I'll never know. Perhaps they did me a favor - so for that they get one star.

I have been a loyal customer the past two years and return again because of Galina (the best of the best). She is friendly, professional and has a great wealth of knowledge of what is best for you. As an eye doctor, she is a credit to her profession. In customer service, she ranks an A+. I travel over an hour for this service and am pleased with the final product as well.

I'm so thankful to VIZIO OPTIC - worked with both Phyllis and Dr. Rabkin. Before getting a new pair of glasses, they checked my old glasses and noticed that the PD (pupillary distance) on my old glasses was totally off... which makes sense as I was having headaches and eye strain. They spent a great deal of time with me and I found the perfect pair of cute and very comfortable glasses.. and I just went back to them to get sunglasses. They want to make sure you look great in your glasses and what a selection! Plus, they have the latest lenses. I recommend VIZIO to all my friends and family.

I shopped at Vizio Optic since beginning of 2006 and it is not only a great eyeglass store, it is a great shopping experience in all of Boston, period!
I really would like to provide feedback on the last two customer comments that I read and was truly surprised to see. These two customers seemed to have a bad experience with one of the people who work at Vizio Optic. I was sad to see that because I have been a loyal customer and know the owner who happens to be an amazing person who is really nice and helpful. Now there are five or six people who work on various different days at Vizio and it was a mistake (in my opinion) for these two customers to think that the store is a bad shopping experience just because of one spoiled apple. Every store every once in a while has bad employees but such people come and go and they don't represent everyone else whom you curtly judge just by this one experience with an employee who may have just been temporary in the first place. Again, I was sad to read these two reviews because it is completely the opposite of what I know about Vizio and I hope those two customers consider calling the owner and telling the owner who it was that upset them because I know this wouldn't happen if she was there helping them.
