I looked at all the medical billing programs I could find. A lot of them are on line only but this was hands-on, cheap, and fast. They have a night program which was good for me because I work in a hospital during the day. And they spread out my payments so it was very affordable. The size of the class was nice and small, not overcrowded. I would reccommend ABC as a good honest school that lived up to their reputation.
Pros: easy schedules, good price, fast training, job placement

Tutor Time has a VERY rigid and structured program, so this place is not for every child! My son was three and a half years old when we enrolled him last year, and only lasted 6 weeks! The major disappointment was that the staff, especially the director, seemed TRULY annoyed that my son was not following the "perfect" program they have in place. They seemed to lack patience and did not want to be bothered, and immediately referred us to seek help in determining what was "wrong" with my child, which we were DUMB enough to do! It was QUICKLY realized that the obvious problem was that he was not ready for such a rigid program at his age, and we found a family based daycare in which he has been thriving for the past year, because there is a wonderful certified teacher there and the entire staff understands how much patience is need to deal with a child. Ironically, alot of the children there came FROM Tutor Time! However, the worst part was that, instead of giving us the courtesy of two weeks notice, as mandated by them, to start looking for alternative care, the director gave us FOUR days notice, in the form of a letter left at the front desk! They made us feel like our child was so bad that we didn't even deserve to be given the bad news in person!

these guys are awesome. My mom went here 25 years ago and the same guy taught me how to drive. He teaches you HOW to drive and DOES NOT just "take your money". I thought I was ready to pass and he told me i needed a little more practice. He was right and i passed my road test with ONLY 5 points off!!
Pros: instructors are dedicated to TEACHING you, not taking your $
Cons: strict like the road test examiners

The instructer I had really wanted me to pass and did all he cought to make me a good driver. They have a bunch of tips and easy ways for you to remember what you'll need to pass your road test. The cars they use are verry modern ( no cars older than 1999) and in good shape. Most have the passenger break installed just incase your about to hit something. The price packages they have are cheap in contrast to other schools and they also pick you up for your lessons.

Every fall, the NYC Parks Dept helps produce a wonderful Medieval Festival in Fort Tryon Park in the Bronx in the area around the Cloisters. It is FREE but help support the fair by giving a donation at the wishing well. This is a whole day of fun especially if you have kids - you don't have to come dressed up but there are many folks who do. There are many booths throughout the fair selling charms, dragon jewelry, small lizards and puppets as well as educational booths with information about herbs and life in the middle ages. You can even have a dragon painted on your face or arm.
There are medieval musicians, puppet shows, knights practicing, and jousts at the end of the day.
You can bring sandwiches and picnic, a water bottle is a must and you can also buy refreshments at the fair as you stroll through the park.
A fun day for all! Don't miss it!

More
A fairly rigorous competitive Jesuit all-boys high school in the Bronx. May be moving to Westchester. Applicants must take Catholic COOP test and have excellent grades but you don't have to be Catholic. All freshmen take Greek or Latin. A well balanced academic education. Students are required to take a minimum number of courses in English(4), foreign language(4) math (3), science with lab(3), social studies(3) as well as religion(4). Forensics is offered in senior year. Strictly enforced dress code -jacket/tie/shirt/dress khakis, dress shoes. Rather rigorous in terms of discipline - students get detention points for lateness, not buttoning their collar, talking in class, etc. which can lead to suspension. Each grade has a Service requirement. Juniors go on an overnight retreat. Seniors must put in 70 hrs volunteer work offsite aside from classes. A good match if your teen comes from Catholic middle school background, students from public school may have a more difficult transition.
Discipline/Counseling/Academics are not well integrated. Some financial aid available but tuition is steep at about $10,000 plus cost of books, etc.
