THANK YOU VILLAGE VET. 8/19/2013

I took my little boston terrier to Village Vet. I read these reviews before I did, and had it not been the only place that would see her after hours I would NOT have gone. But I could find nothing else. I had a Dr. and a tech meet me at the clinic at 2 am, they were incredibly nice and helpful. The next day I got a call from the Dr. at 8 am letting me know how my dog was and what needed to be done. After I took her home, the vet called me two days in a row...just to check on her!! I have never felt so comfortable leaving my pet with anyone as I do Village Vet. Now when I go in, I am greeted by everyone and my dog loves walking in the door. I am glad I went, Village Vet has the most caring, compassionate and loving employees. The Dr's are very knowledgeable and willing to do what is needed. THANK YOU VILLAGE VET. more

Expectations were not met 4/18/2013

I recently brought my 17 year old cat in for a check up, she had recently stopped eating. Had lab results done to confirm that she was in renal failure. I wasn't given much guidance as to what to do next. I decided to take her home and let her be as comfortable as possible. While making her as comfortable as possible, I made some phone calls about keeping her remains and decided that when she passed I would have her cremated. I also wanted to save some of her fur, to have it spun into yarn for a keepsake of my sweet girl. I called and left a message for the groomer twice to see if they could accommodate this request. But they NEVER called. The staff didn't seem to know how to answer my questions nor care to go out of their way to to help. A couple weeks later I was asked by many people why the vet didn't offer her any pain meds. I never knew that was an option. After 4 weeks and no progression or ease of her situation, I decided to bring her in to put her down. :( It was a HARD decision. Both veterinarians who saw her were pleasant enough, but the staff was (again) unprofessional, non-compassionate, and untrained. They assumed that I would bring her to the cremation location and when I asked if they could take her, they promised they would call them for me. When I called the next afternoon to make arrangements for the cremation, they said they never heard from Village Vet about my cat. It was very frustrating to hear this. Then after all was said an done, I assumed they might send sympathy flowers or a card (as most other vets do) but nothing. No phone call, email, nothing. I thought vet offices were there to help you in need. They did not care, help, or accommodate my needs. I am a firm believer in customer service; this office lacks it- tremendously. Very disappointing. more

Not a good visit. 5/28/2011

Good: Will not return unless we can see DR.SCOTT. She is a fabulous vet. The gentleman we saw was not.. Bad: The visit took an extremely long amount of time. We told the staff we wanted to leave and weren't able to for an hour. The time estimates were grossly underestimated. What should have taken twenty minutes took an hour. Would not return our cat to us when we asked and had paid. The doctor tried to scare us with what it could be rather than facts.. Improvements: A much quicker check out. The desk moves at a super slow motion. Check out can take longer than the time spent with the doctor.. Other: The vet we saw was mostly about cost vs. care.. more

Highly recommended 5/26/2011

We had our chihuahua grabbed by a coyote at our rural home. We had used a vet service nearer to us and were nursing her back to health but our dog was having some major infection problems. It was very late at night and no one around here was available. We took her to Village Vet and she was treated as if she was the only dog on the planet. We felt confident in the services provided and am glad to say our Stella is back to normal. Thank you for your professionalism, kindness and compassion. more

This place is a joke 9/11/2010

Do not go here....they are unprofessional and over-priced. I have always taken my two Chihuahua's elsewhere, but in the middle of winter my female was pregnant, as was I, and I needed somewhere closer. I took her in for an x-ray ONLY to see how many babies we were expecting....they talked me into this package that would include all her shots and boosters for a year, plus give me 20% off any other services needed. Since she's a small dog and could need help with the pregnancy I agreed. Low and behold, that initial visit was almost $600.00!! The package was only $175.00. They will charge you for ANYTHING! They also gave me a pager number for an emergency since she was due to give birth any day. When she did go into labor there were complications. We began paging the vet around 3 in the morning....no one ever called us back until 6 am. At that point the puppy was dead. Thanks for your help Village Vet. Then I began getting e-mails that it was time for her booster or rabies shot or heart worm medication....and yet every time I went in they wanted to charge me! Isn't this what I prepaid for??? They could never give me a straight answer, I always had to argue....ridiculous. They could never produce any sort of paperwork to show exactly what had been paid for. In addition to this, when you go in, even if you are the only one in there, you will wait forever before anyone acknowledges you. Then you will wait again forever before they take you back. This place is a joke more

Great experiences 7/30/2010

I liked the place, the people, and the cute pets that were there. The desk ladies were nice, it smelled clean, and the doctors we've seen were real nice too. One talks a lot more, but they are nice. We will stay put, we are more than happy with this place. As a matter of fact, on one visit, another lady came in with her snake. Her vet sent her there b/c Village Vet had the best docs to treat whatever was wrong with her snake. I'm glad my vet is the one that other vets call on when they don't know what to do!! more

Emergency .. They are not a place to go to!!!! 7/5/2010

07/05/10 Teacup Pomerainian was just born the mother ripped the pups cord to far down and it was bleeding really bad. My daughter and I brought it in because our vet was closed.. the puppy was handed over to the girl working the desk ... at the same time a little girl (5yr old ) got up from the floor and ran back to see our puppy .. I never dreamt what happened next... that same little girl was standing in their hall holding my puppy half falling out of the bloody wash cloth we brought it in. I was horrified!!! Screaming at them to give me my puppy that wasnt even an hour old and that was brought in on an emergency! To see a CHILD holding a puppy that was brought in for emergency reasons and within 5 mins a child is holding it. That is so not professional and that child didnt wash her hands and could have transfered parvo or anything else from the dirty floor. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR CLINIC AND EMPLOYEES!!!!!! My rating is NO STARS DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS! more

great customer service 9/27/2005

I went to get my dog for a yearly check up and some vaccine. I really am impressed by their service. The Vet there are very friendly and knowledgeable; he gave some valuable advice for my dog. All the staff there are compassionate and nice. In case you forget about the next check up, they even mail you to remind you of the next up too. more

Village Vet - great vet! 9/2/2005

I haven't been to the Village Vet in about 2 years (since I left Broken Arrow). But they were our #1 vet for nearly 15 years. They always greet your pet by name (silly, but nice), and the vet is up to date on some of the latest option for treating more serious conditions. more

  • Where You Go When It Matters Our doctors and staff offer affectionate and conscientious care at the same quality we would want our own pets to receive. He provides care for all kinds of animals, from domestic to exotics. That includes dogs, cats, hermit crabs, taranchulas, fish, peacocks, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs, non-domestic cats, chinchillas. rats, hedge hogs, reptiles, lizards, pet birds, non-domestic birds, hawks, falcons, eagles, swans, geese, ducks, ostriches, emus, rheas, you name it.My specialty is older pets and allergy pets, says Dr. Setser. Typically your dog itches himself bald, these are sometimes called summer allergies and they can be controlled. Each pet is different. We customize safe allergy medications. We also see alot of dogs who are brought in to be put to sleep because their owners say the pet can't get up anymore. In many cases we save the pet with a simple oral medication. Older pets just need special care and can be salvageable.
