This is the only zoo in Connecticut and it so small and very very disappointing. You can see the whole zoo in about an one hour time. The only highlight of the zoo is the tigers which are always a delight to watch. You can peacocks wandering in the zoo which is pretty. It is entertaining for smaller kids who are excited even to see a horse. The farm yard is pretty okay as children get to see animals you find in farms. The price of admission is not cheap either at about $9 per person over the age of 3. The zoo is crowded on weekends(I really don't know how). Very disappointing, but small kids with enjoy strolling outdoors.

This is a great, clean, local ball field. The players are excellent and there is tons of fun. My company had its picinic there every year and the picinic area is amazing. They is a very nice buffett and they even provided "BB Bucks" to buy things. There is a small but fun kiddy area with games. The bathrooms are kept clean and the seats are reasonable priced. You can sit anywhere and see the whole field.

I had heard very little of the Discovery Museum but decided to take the kids on a blistering hot day. What a pleasant surprise, a nice modern building overlooking the woods (this is Bridgeport!). We enjoyed many offerings: The kids observatory show, the mini movies in the theatre (age appropriate and included with the admission), the germ, dinosaur & basketball exhibits, the children's play area (lots to do in a small area), the echo chamber and lots of hands on science. My kids are on the young side but enjoyed themselves so much we bought a membership. (A bargain compared to pricing at the Stepping stones Museum) Go you'll like it.

If you can get an appointment with Joanne V. do so, otherwise take any appointment you can get. This place is wonderful. The best haircut you will ever get for men or women. A little pricey but so worth it. They recently expanded and offer manicure services as well as tanning. Great, great place but plan ahead if you need an appointment as they are very hard to get into.

This is a great place to see a show, whether it be a concert, ice show, family show, etc. We saw Disney on Ice there and a concert. Very nice set up, good security, easy parking, clean bathrooms. The bars offer more than just beer which is nice for the non-beer drinkers. The concession stands and food stands are spaced nicely throughtout the arena. Its a small intimate venue worthwhile to go to to see a show.

This is one great neighborhood old fashioned ice cream shop. The ice cream is fresh and has some great seasonal flavors such as peach and mango.
The ice cream flavors stand alone and enjoyable on a cone, or drenched in a bittersweet hot fudge sundae or banana split.
It is a little hard to find, a few blocks off of of Route 1, but well worth the effort.
Make sure you look at all the old photos of Bridgeport on the wall while you are sampling the ice cream. Try the pistachio or strawberry ice cream!

I had the opportunity to try Marino's food. They are a new pizza restaurant in Bridgeport. The pizza is very good, thin crust and I happen to like it with a bunch of their fresh toppings.
One of the best features of Marino's is their Spanish food. If you have the chance, order the rice and beans with pork. It is one of the best dishes I have ever had. The pork is spiced just right and is crispy on the edges.

More
I have seen Dr. Collins at Carpenter Chiroptractic several times for lower back pain and sciatica I had been having. She is a great chiropractor, seems very eager to work with you and listen to your needs. I was very scared to see a chiropractor, but this is a very pleasant office, they will see you asap, and explain everything in detail. I was able to be relieved of my symptoms in 3 weeks, with about 3 visits per week. Dr. Collins was recommended to me by a close friend who will see no other chiropractor but her.
