Recently I was taken to Jasmine by a group of co-workers who insisted it was definitely worth the trip down 65 from our office near 100 Oaks. I had been by the building before, but always thought the restaurant must be yet another incarnation of "strip-mall Chinese," judging from the plain brick exterior.
Wrong on all counts. The interior sports nicely textured exposed brick walls, and low-slung bench tables like those in a sushi restaurant. The place was packed our first trip out—and given the dearth of restaurants in the area—is always a good sign.
Our service was fast and efficient, and nary a single error was made in anything. We passed everything around—highlights were the ginger tofu, the tom kai soup, and the spicy hung ray curry. Loved everything, and it was definitely a bargain for lunch at less than $10/per person. Will have to try the banana dessert on the return trip.
The only criticism I have would be that it will definitely take up 2+ hours to get in, eat and get back to work. Of course this was a noon—I'll have to try it at an off-peak time to see if the kitchen is a little speedier.
Pros: Consistent, cute, great value at lunch, tons of options.
Cons: Makes for a 2-hour lunch.

My husband and I love Thai food and decided to try Jasmine for our weekly dinner date. I had combed through reviews here on Citysearch and thought that Brentwood *should* have a pretty discrimating crowd to judge ethnic cuisine. Guess not! The restaurant has a nifty atmosphere and the food presentation is beautiful. However, first we had to wait 15mn to order our dinner (the restaurant was half-full), then they forgot to bring me my drink, and finally our dishes were horrendous. Mine was described as spicy Asian noodles stir-fried with fresh vegetables; instead had a huge plateful of waterlogged egg noodles with minute shreds of soggy carrots and peppers, scraps of mushrooms, and some chicken, tossed in a spicy but otherwise tasteless sauce. No real flavor, just very hot. My husband had a dish billed as chicken with peas over noodles in peanut sauce... the peas were raw and the noodles were SPAGHETTI. Also, we tried the satay appetizer, which had the same peanut sauce as the one in my husband's dinner dish... the satay/peanut sauce was watery and sugary -sweet. Satay should be bold and spicy with the creaminess of peanut butter throughout.
I hate to pan a place, but this was absolutely awful. Soggy egg noodles and spaghetti do NOT belong in an Asian restaurant. The veggies and sauces had no flavor or substance at all. Don't be fooled by the fancy zip code... find a real Thai restaurant somewhere else!
Pros: Cool atmosphere, not too expensive
Cons: Food was absolutely atrocious, service poor

Food was good. But I got a surprise when I checked my credit card statement. They had overcharged me on the tips. There was a difference of 10% between what my actual bill + tips were vs. what they charged on my credit card. So next time you eat here, make sure that you check your credit card statement. I hope that it was just a data entry mistake.
Pros: Good food, good service
Cons: Billing issues

I moved to Franklin from Michigan a couple of years ago and was very happy to discover Jasmine - a great replacement for my favorite Thai place up there. I've never eaten at the restaurant - only take out. But my wife and I have always been happy with the food. The menu offers a great selection. We haven't had a bad dish yet.

I recently moved from the west coast (Portland, OR) area where great ethnic food abounds. My fears of only finding ethnic food in the form of Taco Bell and Panda Express the South felt very real in my first few weeks here. I tried several Thai and chinese restaurants in the south (including Franklin/Brentwood) and west Nashville areas. Of 4 so far--this is BY FAR (far and AWAY) the best. So much so that I've gone back a second time. Thai food should be aromatic, spicy, colorful. It should satisfy the senses. Some places here are very "americanized" versions of Thai dishes. Jasmin isn't -- it covers all three points quite successfully. I've tried several dishes with only one that I wouldn't rate as "great"--that could be because I didn't order it with enough spice. Definitely try the Pad Ga Prao and make sure to try their "relish" fresh diced peppers in a vinegar-based sauce. It adds that extra kick.
Pros: Great food, great packing on to-go orders, excellent service
Cons: smaller sized portions than other comparable restaurants.

If you haven't tried Thai food before - this is the place to go! Their food is consistantly delicious with just the right amount of spice and flavor. Many other Thai places have a watered-down taste or thin sauces, but not Jasmines!
First time eating Thai - try Pad Thai or other noodle dish if you're apprehensive on the new cuisine. Since you'll definitely be back for more, other suggestions are the Tom Kha soup and Panang Curry. Simply delicious!
Pros: Amazing food!!
Cons: A little hard to find (it's by Publix, PetSmart & Rooms to Go)

Found this restaurant on city search last night and decided to make the hour trip to give it a try....it was WELL WORTH IT! The food was delicious and fresh and well made..the appetizers were great and the ambience and decor was perfect for the food and setting. The fresh spring rolls were great as well as the chicken spring rolls. The Pad ka prow with chicken was wonderful although we should have specified heat because it had no kick but was still so good! The Sizzling Talay was full of fresh delicious seafood with a chile basil sauce that had a smokey flavor almost..served on a sizzling cast iron platter...great presentation! The best part of the meal was the dessert...we got the Thai custard and sticky rice...it was typical sticky rice with coconut milk and an amazing custard which the waiter could not identify the contents of but was delicious nonetheless. We've already planned our next trip over. Give it a try!!! (The reviews made the "strip mall" sound seedy....as far as strip malls go it was nice and the building was not at all disconcerting at first view)
Pros: Delicious Thai food in Tennessee!!!
