I ended up choosing this store because the first initial experience was good -they seemed knowledgable and helpful...until I put a deposit down on my dress. Then they treated me like I was worthless. Whatever they promise you about dates, Do NOT believe them - I bought my dress in February, 2009, and they told me that it would be in by May - I did not get it until the WEEK before my wedding which was in August. (advice if you do happen to go here - give them a wedding date of AT LEAST 2 months before your real date) I was naturally worried a few weeks before the wedding and kept calling them, and they were nothing but rude to me, saying things like "you aren't the ONLY bride getting married" - no apologies whatsoever! Also, my veil didn't come in until 2 days before my wedding - it was ordered in February as well! I ended up calling the distributor, Laura Jayne in Canada, and was told by them that Bridal Trousseau gave them a later wedding date which is why it wasn't shipped until last minute. Not only that, but they add in extra surprise charges when you do your fitting there - If you get anything other than a hem done, expect to pay about $200 extra. ALSO, my bustle broke before I made it to the reception, and I had to keep fixing my top because of the poor sewing job, the fabric on the inside kept folding over.
One other thing - I was suckered into doing the "package" deal (which apparently they stopped doing), which included up to $200 in alterations (which actually meant only the hem I found out later), $10 off each bridesmaid gown, and the preservation of the gown - I did this and ended up getting the bridesmaids gowns there... and then realized afterwards that they don't even do alterations for bridesmaids - would have been nice to know, and i should have thought to ask...
DO NOT GO HERE - If i could go back in time, I would have at least had my bridesmaids gowns (Alfred Angelo) done at Marie's Bridal in Fairfield, CT - I didnt find out until later from my mother in law, who went there for her gown, that they don't even charge for alterations on bridesmaids gowns- my bridesmaids would have saved about $100 each!

Stored my wedding dress at the store until my fitting and when I went to get it it had water stains on the dress on the outer hip/knee area. They would not take resposibility for the stain and said they would have it cleaned and when I went back- the stains were still there. They had the dress hanging in a ripped bag with a broken hanger. Do not buy anything from them.
Cons: damaged goods

I went to Bridal Trousseau several times before choosing my wedding gown. I went to several stores in the area and although I felt the service was good, I felt the most comfortable with Bridal Trousseau. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision at any time. I would definetly recommend them to anyone looking for a excellent customer and a relaxed atmosphere.

I just got married this past October, I went to Bridal Trousseau to purchase my wedding gown, bridesmaids, and my accessories. Not only did they have excellent quality in their merchandise they had many different styles to choose from. The woman I worked with was very knowledgeable and I felt really had an opinion. They were looking to find the dress that was best for me instead of saying every dress looked great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone whether you are looking for you wedding gown or anything else you need.

I bought my dress through this store over a year before my wedding. I thought they were very professional and my dress came in about a month before they predicted. My dress alterations came out great, although it took a couple tries to get it perfect- but it was all set a week before the wedding. I can see how some people would think the atmosphere is unfriendly, however I was overall satisfied with my treatment- the owner even gave me a hug on the day i went to pick up my dress. They also handled the cleaning and preservation of my dress with no problem. they have many beautiful dresses at different levels of pricing from Maggie Sottero and Pronovias up to high end Reem Acra and Alvina Valenta. I would recommend checking them out and if you don't like it, then you aren't obligated to go back there, and if you like it well then maybe your dream dress awaits you there!

I beg of you, if you are a bride DO NOT GO TO BRIDAL TROUSSEAU!!! You will constantly be waiting on phone calls back from the owners and receiving nothing but attitude once you do. I have heard horror stories about their seamstress and even worse stories of how the owners have handled their customers. These women act as if they have your best interest at heart but only if it's going to give them the biggest profit! There are plenty of other bridal stores out there that truly care about the most important day of your life. Don't let Bridal Trousseau ruin it for you!

Bought a wedding dress from a up and coming designer (Matthew Christopher) and was promised the Gown would arrive on time and I would be take care of as far as the fittings afterwards.Well Dress came in 3 weeks before the big day, The designer was going to make arrangements to have me fitted in time. I was told by the seamstress that it was to close to the wedding date and they could not do it. Plus there wanted to charge me on top of that. I called Bridal Trousseau to make them aware of my situation and was told that they would call the dress maker. after 3 days nothing......We then left a msg that a negative review was going to go online if someone didn't get back to us. We where told there was nothing they could do. Nice shop and somewhat nice people but once your money is in they hands, the customer service goes down hill.as for the dress maker......He will kiss your butt before you buy the dress then not give much care afterwards. please avoid..

Bridal Trousseau is an adorable little shop on Main Street. Don't let the size fool you, because their selection and service is out of this world! The two owners are amazing women, and they have the expertise to help you pick out the gown of your dreams. Trust their advice, because they really know what they are talking about. You get personalized attention during your appointment, which is totally different from chain bridal shops, where you will share your employee with several other women.
The prices are what you would expect of high-quality gowns. Considering the great service you receive, it is truly a bargain. They also have a nice selection of jewelry, bridesmaid dresses, and other accessories.
