The food is excellent at the hibachi. Let's face it, go to a Japanese hibachi restaurant for the hibachi and nothing else. Most of the cooks are fun and entertaining. Ask for Ton if you can get him. Pros: excellent entertainment Cons: service a little slow

We did the traditional meal rather than the hibachi as we had done it before and just wanted sushi. The sushi was not fresh- Spider Roll (soft shell crab roll) tasted old and fishy and left an aftertaste. The American Dream (shrimp tempura roll) tasted old and not fresh as well. And the worst part was the service- the place was understaffed to start with, plus our waitress was slow, nonchalant, and could be heard at the bar laughing it up with a bar patron as we waited... and waited... and waited. We ended up having to walk out check to the bar to get the waitress to ring us out. A VERY disappointing meal.

Not a huge fan of Japanese food, I was hesitant to try Kampai. The food was delicious. The chef put on quite a show for us while cooking. I have since been many times. Always fun and enjoyable.
