hey, it's a capitalist world. ok whatever, really, small business, and they always manage to get great sale prices for their organic produce. they also refridgerate nuts and oils, which i've heard is muy importante. on top of that, it's right next to WFM, so then you can go there for the stuff that you can get great prices for at WFM.

boulder co-op is a community center, and a provider of quality foods. their bulk department is wicked cool. it's organic, and vegetarian, and it shares its space with Cafe Prasad, which is DOPE! try it out, as a comparison to big time multinational supermarket chain Whole Foods Market, and to local chain Vitamin Cottage. they're a real co-op, too, offering membership and with the aim to be sustainable and work with local companies. oh, and they offer yoga, capoeira, movies, open mic, and other sorts of community events. check it out!

I'm very happy there is an Indian grocery in Boulder- but I'd like to see some improvements in the store. Typically the store is understocked and disorganised. The produce comes in once/week (I think) but isn't refrigerated so over the week it wilts and becomes far less appealing than it seems it ought to be. Sometimes you can get your favorite item; sometimes it won't be seen for weeks or months.
According to my Indian friends, a lot of items are way overpriced.
Still, the owner is very nice, very chatty and knowledgable about Auyervedics and cooking. He has an opinion on almost everything but doesn't express it in a pushy or rude way- he doesn't give advice, but offers suggestions- something most of us would profit from learning! I would love to see the store become better stocked in food basics, prepared items, toiletries, Auyervedics and spices.
We do enjoy the Indian movies too.
