Coffee, in house sandwich bar, great breakfast treats, desserts. an ideal plan: roll in at 7am, browse one of many Falcon Guide to Hiking Colorado books, and find a hike over coffee. then drive up 36 to Estes Park and take that hike. on the way back, come back in for a sandwich and a smoothie, and then go play pinball down the street.

We took my parents here for their 43rd anniversary last night. Amy and I hadn't been to Full Moon Grill in five years - it used to be one of our favorite restaurants and I think we had just burned out on it.
The scene was unchanged from five years ago and while the menu was updated, several of our old favorites (like the pear, gorganzola, and polenta salad) were still on the menu. Dinner was fantastic - the service was great, the food excellent, and the setting extremely comfortable. We lingered until the end of the evening and as we walked out, noticed the previously full restaurant was empty.
We had a great time - highly recommended.

Offering free wireless and a virtually endless supply of loose-leaf teas, dainty chocolates and savory dim sum, The Tea Spot is a peaceful anytime oasis for the busy downtowner.

I walked by this place a half dozen times or more and it always caught my eye. Comfy looking couches, mimatched tables and chairs, and an unpretentious look. Best of all, the store front opens wide to the street.
So I finally checked it out and was very impressed. Prices were reasonable, staff friendly, and the low key atmosphere perfect for meeting a friend, cranking out a few hours on your notebook, or diving into your favorite read.
This section of Pearl Street, East of the walking mall, has been steadily improving and Allison Boutique is a very welcome addition.

Laudisio is a long time Boulder favorite. The new location at the 29th Street Mall is fantastic -- tall ceilings, modern decor. The prices are as expected for fine dining but the Italian cuisine is excellent. There are daily specials which feature fresh, seasonal produce and meats. The desserts are incredible and decadent (i.e. toffee tower with marscapone, with clover honey and fresh berries!). The service is great and there is a wide selection of wines. Overall, very, very good.

Sumidas is tucked away on Folsom, away from the downtown shi-shi and well worth the detour! Their new space on the upper floor is very comfortable and well appointed. Their sushi has been fresh with a broad variety of Nigiri sushi - with specialty types on occasion. Both lunch and dinner menus include a variety of cuisines to please your non-sushi eating friends. And the mango sweet rice dessert is awesome!
Pros: great sushi & tempora, quiet
Cons: tables a bit close together - sometimes a communal feeling which is not necessarily a minus.
