If you have not been to The Sink for a while, try it again. The food has definitely improved and includes more fresh, house-made items. They are getting product from local ranchers and farmers who practice sustainable agriculture. The end result, more healthy and tasty food on your plate. Look for the "premium colorado burger" and other local ingredients. Plus, they use recyclable/compostable service products and practice recycling and composting to the maximum extent possible.

The food is decent, the atmosphere is interesting. The menu is certainly eclectic, but not always as good as it could be. I ordered a salad with Balsamic vinagrette and the dressing was only oil and balsamic vinager...I couldn't get anything but oil out of the plastic cup. We waited for over an hour for our "sinkburgers", pretty good once we got them, but we had to leave right after we shoved them down our throats. Our waiter was nowhere to be found when we needed our check...I went in search of him and he was sitting around talking to his co-worker buddies, he didn't apologize for our late food or for not checking up on us at all. The restaurant was not even half-full, and the people sitting near us never got their french fries because they "ran out". We have been here twice hoping that the bad service was a fluke, but unfortunately the wait staff seems to be inept...won't be going back here.
Pros: Good burgers
Cons: other food isn't great, poor wait staff

Went next store to check out the merchandise, the owner was in there. She was so friendly and welcoming, we'll will visit for sure on our next trip.

Has good history, with all the caricatures on the wall of people who have been there (Robert Redford used to be a janitor there). Decent food, pizza is pretty good. Has a very low roof.
Bar -
At night turns into a crowded bar, nicely priced drinks ($3.50 imported beer). Monday night is packed, it is flip night, where you have a 50% chance on the flip of a coin that you could get your drink for 25 cents. Lots of greeks (frat/soroity).
Pros: Good prices on drinks, Good pizza
Cons: Low Ceiling

I love the Sink because it's got so much history and it's a fun place to have a pizza and some beers.

The sink not only serves the best pizza in Boulder but it all started with the Sinkburger. A half pound burger with the famous Sink Hickory sauce has been a tradition at CU for over 50 years. The Sink is my favorite lunch spot. I used to have a hard time going there on nice days because it is a bit dark but they added sidewalk seating this summer. The scenery is the best in Boulder.
Pros: historic, great food, great patio
Cons: bit dark, feels like a bar

It smells like beer, but the sink still has the best burgers and pizza in the state of CO.
Pros: it's a landmark, cool atmosphere, never a wait
Cons: smells like hell
