Rudi's recently changed owners (a week ago) and the new owner - a wonderful woman named Lordes - is working super hard to restore Rudi's lustre. Rudi has been around for 30 years, and - while we've lived in Boulder for 10 years - we'd never eaten here. It's tucked away in a shopping center near Table Mesa and 36 in a cute office / house-like building. It's a little tired feeling, but comfy. The food was outstanding tonight - great selection, fresh, and "worldly" (I had Indian, Amy had curry, Maureen had chicken something, and Dave had lamb medallions.)
The portions were good sized, but not overwhelming. We had enough room for dessert and managed to scarf down a toffee mouse cake thing. Yum.

There are four sushi places on the Pearl Street Mall (wow!) All are very good to excellent. Hapa is the "hippest" crowd - the waitstaff are all hotty college kids and there's a great hang out bar in the back. The sushi is more adventureous (or non-traditional) than most - you get all the standard fair, but then orgasm rolls, 69 rolls, tuna sushi nachos - you get the picture. The spicy edamame is the best in town and is a must have starter. If you are a sashimi fan, keep it simple and get the sashimi platter - 9 fish * 3 pieces. When the bill comes, it's in an envelope that says "The Damage" on the front - so you know you've ended your experience.

There's lots to say about Chautauqua and it's mostly good. First of all, there are the hiking trails, which are wonderful. I've not done them all, yet, but I've hiked many of them and they are such a wonderful getaway. My favorite is the little-known quarry trail, which ends in a huge quarry area high atop the mountain. Some industrious souls have fashioned Adirondack-like lounge chairs out of the rocks and they just beg you to "plop and set a spell". And I always do! The view form this site is breathtaking and the sun on your face just invites you to doze off. (And I always do that, too!)
back at the base of the mountain, you will find an information station that is small but has lots of information (but no bathrooms--you have to hoof it across the field to find one of those). The staff are informative and helpful.

I have been a regular visitor to the Boulder Farmers Market for 4 years now, and I Love it! The market is definitely a "Must Do" . The veggie selection is amazing and you have to try the Allegro coffee at the BMOCA both in front of the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. I love getting some "Amazing Tamales" and sitting under a tree with my doggie. A Great Day!
