The Gondolier is a good place to stop for a pie after a long day of shopping or whatever you're in Boulder for. The pizzas come to your table piping hot and delicious. They believe that the toppings should be light and good instead of hiding behind a pile of toppings.

Sometimes the bar area is a little gross, but the food is always great. It is a great place to get together with friends and put $20 in the Juke Box, get drunk, play pool and eat good food.
Pros: Nachos, Soft Tacos
Cons: Could keep the bar area a little cleaner

The family that runs this IHOP is always right on top of things - even at midnight on a Thursday when you might expect things to be a little sketchy.
Last night we arrived with our laptops in tow (they have free wireless internet - which does not always work unfortunately) and they saw this and sat at us at a table with a nearby plug!
The food is pretty good but the customer service is unbeatable.

This is the best fastfood that doesn't taste like fastfood restaurant. They make the best burritos I've ever had. I love it here. The only thing they could do to make it better is add a drive-thru. My one complaint is that they're always busy so you often are in line for a more than a few minutes before you get to order. But then it's instant service while they're friendly staff helps create your burrito. They aren't super skimpy on the filling either.

This Denny's is great.. I walked into the restaurant at 9am on a Sunday morning and was greeted and seated immediately (with two other guests). Sometimes the food at a big chain can be questionable, but I ordered a Country Scramble and was pleasantly surprised (I don't like country gravy, either!). The pancakes were GREAT, fluffy and had flavor. The kitchen was bustling and the managers and servers supported one another and made sure each table was taken care of. My coffee was never empty, neither was my water glass. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner... and at checkout the cashier had a little bit of a problem running the credit card machine, but overall, this Denny's was a great experience.
PROS: Food and service optimal.
CONS: Bathrooms could be cleaner.

This place is a basic chain. The have good desserts and some of the salads are tasty too. I just don't understand why they serve water in plastic mugs. The restaurant is well decorated, the food can be a little pricy, and they sell ads in their menus. Can they really not afford some basic glasses for water? Plus, ads in the menu is just tacky.
Pros: yummy desserts
Cons: they cheap out on the details

My family stopped in for dinner before the 4th of July fireworks at Folsom. Sure the surfer atmosphere is a little overdone, but it does make it feel like you're not in CO anymore. We asked for recommendations on the appetizers because there didn't seem to be a standout. We were recommended the cheddar fries with green onions as well as the nachos with pork carnitas added. Although the nachos sounded great to me (I like carnitas), we went with the cheddar fries--they came out nicely done with real cheddar cheese on them and fresh green onions.
Since the place features burgers, salads, and soft tacos we tried all of them. They all came out very nicely. Now, the salads don't compete with Fourleaf Chopped Salads off Arapahoe Road and I-25 down in Denver, and the soft tacos don't compete with the tacos at La Cocina de Marcos, and the burgers don't compete with the fresh meat of Cherry Cricket and Ted's burgers, but they were still all good. If you consider any of those other restaurants as A+ in their areas and the typical chain restaurant as a C, this was definitely a solid B. Nice variety for our family, and good enough that we'd return for more visits.
One specific note--the burger I had was an interesting taste combination (although the beef itself seemed preformed and not all that flavorful). Called "Kilauea", it was blackened with black pepper and jalapeno pepper and topped with pepperjack cheese, chipotle aioli, and crisp red onion strings all on a whole wheat bun--it all came together very well.
Pros: flavor combinations, service
Cons: pricing

This place has saved me more than once because it's open late. When I visit my brother in Boulder I usually pull into town well into the evening around 10 or 11 p.m. and starving. This is our favorite place to go for our midnight meal. The food is always good and I've always had good service here despite showing up just before closing.
