It’s fun for us Denver-ites to head up to Boulder sometimes and browse the shops on old Pearl Street. One of the bookstores on the shopping strip is the Boulder Bookstore, which is remarkably big and well-stocked for an indie bookstore – I wouldn’t have realized it was an independent store if their website hadn’t said so. The two-level bookstore has the pleasant buzz of thriving business, and the service is just right: they have enough other customers to keep them busy, so that you don’t get three different people ask you if they can help you find something, but when you DO need service it’s friendly and easy to find.

Take a break from the big bookstores and enjoy an afternoon at the Boulder Book Store! They have a really nice ambiance and a lovely coffee shop. Look through old books or new and enjoy the nice atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and are willing to help you locate a book you may not be able to find. This bookstore may not have as big of selection as other stores, but it is a nice place to get away!

The Boulder Book Store is independently owned and carries mainstream to local authors, one of my favorite places in boulder. If you are a book lover Id recommend you check it out as you will find different types of books you will never find in places like Barne's N Noble's. The Boulder Book Store has 3 levels of any type of book you are looking for from new releases to a used book section. In addition to books, it has a wall of a variety of magazines as well as gifts/cards. At times they have book readings from local/mainstream authors. A café is next door to this place but is usually busy but if you can buy a good book and find a place to sit ,sip coffee ,people watch and read a book id do it. The staff at the Boulder Book store is always so helpful and encourages you to stay awhile and check out their variety of titles.

Three levels of books for a nice selection. Very helpful staff. The attached cafe also offers good coffee and plenty of wireless access. A solid choice.

I haven't been in much book stores like this one and that is independently owned. This book store is 3 floors filled with books of all types including for kids. They also often have author readings and a great selection of magazines. Anyone and everyone comes here whether they live here or are just visiting. The location is one of the best places to be and snuggled up to a cafe who wouldn't want to go buy a great book and go sit at the cafe or just hang out in this warm and inviting place.

Independently owned book shops are rare these days, but Boulder Book Store is one of the best. Great selection, though it might take you a while to find exactly what you need (the store is a little bit of a maze to navigate). I also love their free gift wrapping and wide variety of wrapping paper at the holidays. If I'm just browsing, I usually head downstairs where it's quieter and there are some cool science and home design books to explore. The attached coffee shop is always crowded, and the coffee isn't the best in town. But if you can score a table, it's a great place to people watch (the store's right on the Pearl Street Mall) or read.

There are a lot of books in this book store as well as a nice magazine selection. They actively support the Keep Boulder Weird campaign, I belive it was started by one of their owners. They also have a small, but well edited selection of chocolate, try the Vosges, it is very good. Best time to go is during the week, it can get hectic on the weekends.
