My wife and I have been going to BVC for six years after many years of trying numerous other optometrists. The doctor's long time experience, knowledge of current/new technologies and desire to take the time to clearly communicate with us combines with technical support people who really care and pay attention to what we want/can afford instead of just trying to sell us. BVC products are not always the lowest price but more important to us is tech support people fitting us with products we really like the high quality of the products and the staff's willingness to follow through on a recent product defect problem we had they made sure se had our replacements back quickly just like the originals. We have complete confidence BVC is taking good care of the health of our eyes and we do not hesitate to recommend BVC to anyone.

I recently went to Bothell Vision Center for an exam. The doctor didnt seem to give me more than 2 seconds to answer any of the 1 or 2 questions and seemed to be done. She rambled about herself during the whole appointment, I am not sure if I paid for an exam or to hear her autobiography. However, with the doctor aside the front desk couldnt have been more helpful or kind. They kept making sure I was satisfied and when I said I needed to think about the cost they were more than happy to let me to do that. They even made a recommendation to check out a fellow eye clinic down the street. I was so impressed with how nice and kind they were that I came back and purchased 2 pairs of glasses.

We moved from the Bothell area and have been trying to get a copy our our chart. Dr. Wahl's office lost both of our charts - cannot find either one of them and now we have to get new eye examinations to get our prescriptions refilled. They wouldn't let us take a written prescription when we left. MY QUESTION IS THE FOLLOWING = WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE? It is completely unprofessional and a violation of HIPPA to destroy charts - it has been just over 1 year. I am posting anonymously because if they review this, they will absolutely know who this is, so what is the point of identifying myself?

I went to BVC for an annual exam. After the exam, Dr. Wahl and her assisstants all tried to sell me as much as they could. I wanted to save my insurance for my glasses, so I only wanted to buy one box of contacts. She insisted I had to buy a years' worth and made me feel like a lower class person because I could not afford 200 dollars worth of contacts. Then she insisted I pick out my glasses right then and there. They all seemed horrified that I didn't want to, and that they didn't have frames that I liked. Then she offered me 20 percent off any amount I went over my allowed amount from insurance, only later to find out that it is a benefit from my insurance! She was making it sound as though she was doing me a favor. I came out of there feeling like I just bought an old junker car I really didn't want. By the way, Doc, I still haven't gotten the rebate from the contacts, and that was 3 months ago!

I went to BVC expecting to get an eye exam and new glasses close to home. What I got was yammered at non-stop by Dr. Wahl, who didn't stop talking once during the eye exam. She then sent me to the rude and unprofessional hands of the rather impish young women who work for her. One of these was, indeed, trying to be a professional, but the other seemed barely capable of carrying on a coherent conversation, let alone providing the specialized customer service required of an optician. She ordered me up a pair of bifocals without even bothering to measure them or even really speaking to me, for that matter. After three unsatisfactory visits to their office, two pairs of glasses that failed to adequately correct my vision, and an additional diagnostic trip to an ophthalmologist, I made an appointment to visit my previous eye doctor some 20 miles away. Thankfully, I now have glasses that correct my vision properly, but I feel cheated out of my annual vision care dollars.

I have been seeing these guys for a while. The Optometrist is very anti lasik, so I don't know whether that is good or bad. She was able to fit me for my prescription on the first try, and that has been difficult for many other eye doctors I have seen.
PROS: Highly competent
CONS: Anti Lasik

Bothell Vision Center is very professional
and does a very good job when you need
new glasses or just a check up. They
have a lot of styles to chose from in
contacts and glasses.
