Read about the Sunday suppers that Preservation Kitchen has been doing on their website. I grew up in a house with 7 children, and most of the time, Sunday was the only night of the week we were all hom, dad wasn't working, and we had a big family dinner. We were never fortunate enogh to have a Sunday supper like we enjoyed Sunday night.
When we were seated we were handed dinner menus and given a quick rundown of the Sunday supper from our server. In our party of four, we opted for two Sunday suppers, the aforementioned prime rib and a seafood stew with scallops, clams, and halibut in a tomato coconut stock/broth/deliciousness.
I was glad we decided to eat with friends because there were some options on the dinner menu that sounded very interesting. Needless to say we did a lot of sharing. The salads were amazing, I had a caesar with an insanely rich homemade dressing.
The entrees, both Sunday supper and others were equally enjoyed, but everyone at the table agreed that the Prime Rib stood out. Unfortunately, they only run it once a week, and our server informed us that the Sunday supper menu changes. So who knows if we will ever be able to enjoy the amazing prime rib again, or if it was indeed the Last Supper.....only time will tell.
Nice Job, Preservation Kitchen. You stand out in all the right ways, we can't wait to see what you have in store for us next time!! Good food is hard to find, so imagine how happy we were to find exceptional food, reasonable prices, focus on staying local and seasonal. I just wish local meant that your restaurant was in Wallingford :)
Pros: Best prime rib I have ever had in my life
Cons: The owners put the restaurant in Bothell not where I live :)

I just went here for the first time today. My high tea was delicious with loose-tea tea (Buckingham blend), several tea sandwiches, including cucumber, curried chicken with raisins, turkey and crab sandwiches (although it may have been krab, as it seemed a bit sweet and different to be real crab). The scones were delicious, melt in your mouth kind and came with fresh lemon curd and clotted cream. The other sweets were delicious too -- thumbprint cookie with raspberry jam, sugar cookie with butter cream icing, chocolate cookie, lemon bar and coconut lemon bar. All were delicious. The waitress forgot my soup, so I asked for extra sandwiches instead, which she did for me. I enjoyed my tea very much.
