During the school year, this place is a college bar with its primary clientele being the MIT fraternities that share the block. However, the people are always great fun, there's a good selection of beer, and you can always play a game of darts. They always have the Sox on TV (during the season, of course), and it's a good place to go to watch a game. They also have a trivia night, which attracts some serious competition for free beer.

It's a very basic bar, low-key, and unpretentious. Perhaps that's its charm? It's a good place to hang out with friends. If you want to avoid the frat boys, then go early. It can be pretty quiet earlier in the evenings (they serve food, but I've never had any), and get crowded a little later.

This place is about average. I enjoy Irish hangouts a lot and I enjoy talking to the owner as his accent amuses me, but I am not the biggest fane of this bar. It costs 4 dollars for something equivalent to Pabst Blue Ribbon, and the food is expensive. Also, there is hardly anybody here when I go. I suppose it gets filled up when the college kids return, but its more of a chill out and relax type of place than a bar. I know a few waitresses here and they say they never get that many tips cause it's never that busy.

Crossroads is a boston pub that is patronized by many MIT, Boston University, Harvard, Simmons, and Boston College students. Many locals also visit the pub and enjoy the good selection of beers. Every monday, there is a deal on beer here where you can get a pitcher for ten bucks. There are also various happy hours here from five to seven where the bar advertisers cheap chicken wings and other appetizers.
Many students visit this bar after partying. The food is also american food here; they serve burgers and fries and many other things too. A great place to eat if you're looking for cheap pub food.

The Boston bar scene doesn't get more local than Crossroads. Located at the corner of Beacon and Mass Ave, Crossroads serves bar food and of course beer. A great place to go to watch a Red Sox game or just to catch up with other alums. Their buffalo chicken fingers are simply unmatched anywhere (I have tried buffalo chicken fingers in many restaurants and bars, and few even come close).
