Ever since I moved to the Boston area, I cannot walk by a J.P. Licks without having a desire to stop and have a small cup of ice cream! At first it started out with the soft oreo cookie yogurt, I then switched to the new "Oatmeal Cookie" hard yogurt. I was having a bad day last summer and decided that I was going to splurge, chocolate chip real ice cream in a chocolate dipped wafer cone with sprinkles!
Ohmigod. Do I even have to say any more? It is the best ice cream that I've ever had and since that day last summer, I have to have the real ice cream. Although the yogurt is fantastic, the real stuff is to die for! You can go wrong on an order from J.P. Licks. I've been to many of the area stores and at each place I am greeted with fantastic service and I always leave with a smile on my face.

If you love ice cream this is the place to go. I bring all of my out of town guests here for a Boston treat and they always leave pleased (and full!). It is conveniently located right around the corner from the Hines Convention Center T stop. Once you enter, it feels like a cross between an old style ice cream shop and a kids playground. There are cow murals everywhere and the counter is decorated like a cow. For kids, there is a cool amusement ride booth to sit and enjoy their ice cream. For others, there are seats and booths. The staff are always friendly and will let you taste any flavor that you are curious about. They have the wafer, sugar and waffle cones as well as all of the many sundaes you can crave. A long list of yummy ice cream makes it tough for me to decide what will be the flavor(s) of the day but I manage. We love to get a huge waffle cone each and walk down Newbury while enjoying it. The ice cream and yogurt is absolutely incredible and we found out recently while relatives were visiting that they even have lactose intolerant ice cream! It was a win for my family!! Highly recommended!

I absolutely love JP Lick's not just on Newbury St. but in JP, Brookline, Newton, I wish they would open one in Brighton closer to my home. The Coffee Oreo is the best I have ever tasted, Coconut almond chip and Peanut butter chip are also favorites. The atmosphere is laid back and the lines are out the doors but you always get served with in minutes.

J.P. Licks, as usual, is a great hang out place for young Bostonians alike. At certain times, there is a long line but don't worry, the line moves very fast. There is a variety of ice-cream flavors. My personal favorite is oreo coffee ice-cream. Yeah, it sounds like a lot, and it is! This is the happening place when the weather gets warmer, and Newbury Street is packed with shoppers from MA. The staff is pretty friendly.
