The Best
In my opinion this is the best public exam school in Boston. The newer sections of the building are breathtaking. The school has a wonderful music program and competitve academics. If you are looking to get into a good college, this is a great school to attend! Very rigorous and stressful curriculum though - must be up for a challenge.

I used to work across from this place, but I did not notice it until about 2 months ago. You wouldn't think it from the outside or even from where it's located, but this is one of the funnest and most unique experiences I have had in Boston. It's an interactive experience that seemingly transports you back to ancient Egypt. A Pharaoh gives you challenges and you have to navigate your way from room to room trying to get to the burial chamber. There are fun surprises and it's very entertaining. They also offer group rate if you have a lot of people. It's also a fun place to take a date.

The one sticking point for my husband and I when planning our wedding was whether to use a DJ or a band. I really wanted the live music and he really wanted to be able to hear the songs as they were originally recorded. We finally decided on a DJ (mostly because of the cost difference!) and once we met DJ Deja (Denise LaCarubba) I was so happy we did! She helped us to bring the vision we had for our wedding to life and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking to have a classy wedding. Most of the DJs we interviewed (and we interviewed A LOT - I was very picky about this!) were trying to tell me how they did things - that made me uncomfortable. Denise really relaxed me because she made it clear right off the bat that she wanted to do things the way WE wanted them done.
She was amazing at the wedding. Not cheesy at all - very classy - I can't tell you how many compliments we received about her - from all ages at our wedding.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!

This is one of the most prestigious symphonies in the world and it's not hard to see why. They are spectacular. Symphony Hall it's self is a masterpiece of sound innovation and it will not disappoint either your eyes or your ears. They have tickets for all ranges and include even rehearsal tickets where you can sit in and listen to a rehearsal in progress.
I have been there on several occasion for Boston Pops concerts, New Year's Eve Galas and they even have a cartoon fest every year for children to come in, explore all about music and instruments and watch classic cartoons on the big screen in the main hall. It also hold a special place for me because It's where my husband and I got engaged!
When in Boston, I highly recommend taking in a concert. It will be a time you will not soon forget.

Literally the best Italian food I've ever eaten. This restaurant used to be a brazillian restaurant, but when it reopened as an italiant restaurant I was intrigued. It is a cozy, little restaurant, but don't be fooled by their simple menu. Try the eggplant parm., the lasagna, or the rigatoni with italian sausage--all very delicious! This is a restaurant that hasn't been touched or harmed by commercial standards or tourism--just authentic, home-made, fresh tasting food. The owner and chef is very humble and willing to answer any questions. The waitstaff is also very friendly. A great place for a date or a family dinner. I highly recommend! Three thumbs up!

This was my stomping grounds when I went to Simmons many years ago. The food is good and cheap, the mixed drinks are good, the atmosphere is young at night, but eclectic during the day. They had awesome burgers and mexican food and they made a mean mimosa for pancake brunch on Sundays. It was always hopping on a Friday or Saturday night and you could always get a bite to eat even if your main objective was to get drunk. It was a great place to meet someone without being a "meat market". We're coming out to Boston in May and while I'm well past the college scene, we'll be heading here for lunch!

By far, the greatest bar experience one could have is spending a night at Foley's. There is no other place to be to find a more diverse crowd getting along so well while being utterly gonzo on liquor. Best example I can give you of who you might see there is this: One night to my left was a woman studying astrophysics at Boston University. To my right was a man who told me about how he used to wrestle Bruno Samartino! The management is as good as it gets. This is a "must go to" establishment. If you want to know what Boston is all about, this is the place to be.

This is the BEST dining experience I've ever had in my life, it was the most amazing experience. From the time we arrived until we went home the whole experience had a fantasy like feeling. First of all we had 5 waiters to ourselves, so we wanted for nothing. The food was all excellent, the service was beyond reproach. Some day, I hope to stay in the hotel because I've heard nothing but good things. This was my best restaurant experience ever! If you love being fawned over and made to feel like a princess, then this is your place!

Yummmmm...the thought of Cantina Italiana makes my mouth water! I tried this restaurant during one of my first Boston trips (I now live here year round). Anyway, I was looking for something average. I didn't want one of these cheap North End places where they pack you in like sardines and the atmosphere is loud and bustling. On the other hand, I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for a plate of pasta and I wasn't dressed for anything fancy.
What I found was, indeed, the perfect solution...Cantina Italiana, of course! The interior of this restaurant is larger than many other North End (Boston's Little Italy) restaurants. They have booths and large tables and can accommodate fairly large groups.
The entrance area is cramped, but there is a small bar where you can sit and have drinks while you are waiting. Otherwise, it's not the coziest place to stand for your wait time so I advise you to make reservations. Not all restaurants in the area take reservations so this is a big plus! The decor is simple yet classy and Italian. Bread comes out very shortly after you are seated and often before you have even ordered drinks! Every time I have been here I have had excellent service. I have never been afraid to ask questions about the menu items either - they're very friendly!
Speaking of the food..amazing! Enough simple Italian staple dishes and enough unique choices as well. Perfect balance. The menu features include a large antipasta selection and four types of salads. Pasta choices include gnocchi (the best ever), lasagna, spaghetti with clams, and risotto with vegetables to name a few. Meat dishes include lots of choices for veal, chicken and seafood dishes...too many to name, although their website has a full menu so check it out. It should also be noted that there are few vegetarian menu choices, but many of the entrees could probably be prepared without meat. Entree prices range from $11.95 (Baked Ziti w/Eggplant) to $24.95 (Seafood Risotto). This is very reasonable and you will find that the food is worth the price.
I have not tried any desserts of wines at Cantina Italiana, but I know that they do have them on the menu. Mike's Pastrys is right down the street so ask your waiter to point you in the direction for amazing desserts.
