We had our wedding on Cape Cod and I think I found them in an ad in Cape Cod Bride Magazine. They do summer concerts in Boston and surrounding areas, so you are able to see them play without crashing someone's wedding. We wanted them primarily for big band/swing, but they also were able to do any music (okay, no rap, but hey, that's not music LOL) - we had Marc Cohn's True Companion as our first dance and they knew it. Andy Maness is the business contact and the lead vocals and then he can put together a band of up to 10 together. He was great to work with and the only one of our wedding professionals not to mangle my husband's name. It has been 9 years (gulp) since our wedding and our friends and family still talk about how great the music was at our wedding!

I used to work across from this place, but I did not notice it until about 2 months ago. You wouldn't think it from the outside or even from where it's located, but this is one of the funnest and most unique experiences I have had in Boston. It's an interactive experience that seemingly transports you back to ancient Egypt. A Pharaoh gives you challenges and you have to navigate your way from room to room trying to get to the burial chamber. There are fun surprises and it's very entertaining. They also offer group rate if you have a lot of people. It's also a fun place to take a date.

Giant Glass was a savior when my windshield needed replacing (smashed during a robbery). The company sent someone out to where my car was within a few hours of me calling. The person who worked on my car was very knowledgeable and had me on my way very shortly. The company even handled all of the insurance company's paperwork that needed to be filed. A great company!

My parents hired Mike Viselli as a surprise for me on my wedding day. Mike was incredible! He looked and sounded just like Elvis, The guests loved it, too. Everyone posed for pictures and danced with him. My father had originally wanted to dance with me to “Daddy’s Little Girl” and was disappointed when he found out that Elvis didn’t do a version of it. So, he hired an Elvis impersonator to sing it for us.

This place is (or was) my favorite bookstore in Boston. They were located in a quaint little area on Newbury Street, but the rent sky rocketed and they could no longer afford to stay in the building. They have, however, decided to move locations and open up very soon. While us book lovers wait in anticipation they do provide updates of their status on the website, which I highly recommend everyone checks out. I usually go on and harass them about opening shop sooner, is suggest everyone does the same.

This law firm deals with Family Law and Real Estate. The two partners of the firm are particularly established and practiced and have very impressive records. They mainly deal with divorce cases and issues with children (like custody or child support). They have an excellent staff and are very professional. Definitely the place to go for any of the above mentioned issues.

More
The one sticking point for my husband and I when planning our wedding was whether to use a DJ or a band. I really wanted the live music and he really wanted to be able to hear the songs as they were originally recorded. We finally decided on a DJ (mostly because of the cost difference!) and once we met DJ Deja (Denise LaCarubba) I was so happy we did! She helped us to bring the vision we had for our wedding to life and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking to have a classy wedding. Most of the DJs we interviewed (and we interviewed A LOT - I was very picky about this!) were trying to tell me how they did things - that made me uncomfortable. Denise really relaxed me because she made it clear right off the bat that she wanted to do things the way WE wanted them done.
She was amazing at the wedding. Not cheesy at all - very classy - I can't tell you how many compliments we received about her - from all ages at our wedding.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!

Interior Review offers a unique service - they scan the interior of your house or apartment into a computer and generate a computer drawing of your floorplan. This may sound silly but when you do home renovations, you need an "as-built" plan. You typically pay your architect to come out and measure and draw. That's expensive. This is cheaper and more accurate by far.
The process is simple. A guy walks around your house with a laptop computer and a laser measuring device that is connected to software on the laptop. Each wall, corner, height, etc. is measured - the tolerances can be exact - and then a complete plan can be computer generated or transferred directly into your architect's computer.
