The movie theatre is nice and big. 2 levels. Downstairs there is only 2 theatres. Upstairs more. There is 1 concession stand downstairs and a big one upstairs and 2 for 2 sides of the theatres. The staff is ok and the food is ok. The restrooms are clean. The price is ok it's downtown area and a movie theatre don't expect to pay a botlle of water for $1. Get serious it's no convenience store so the price will be higher. Parking is hard to find and very expensive again you are in Downtown Boston not the suburbs. I will advise people to park a little outside of the city and use the T. The closest T stop is Boylston on the green line and the red line T stop Park street. If you don't like to walk or can't Boylston will be a better choice for you. Park street T stop you will have to walk a little. I love this theatre. One negative about this place: too many kids mostly blacks and very loud and dirty and disrespectful. Who raised you guys to be so rude and uneducated? Pigs? Also recently I went there and saw a movie and I could not enjoy my movie, why? Well I could not believe what I was hearing and seeing. Not couples doing it lol. MICE. Yes I am for real nasty mice. They need to call the exterminator. The theatre is dirty because people (mostly kids but some adults too) are dirty and do not put their food in trash cans available all over the place for them. And yes it's a great invite for rodents. I could not finish watching the movie and I had to leave. Downstairs I saw a cleaner, I told him about the mice situation and I was even more upset because dude could not speak a word of english. It's good to have a mixed staff but what is the point if the worker can't understand me and can't respond back? I gave them 3 stars but I had to go with 2 because of the mice, the rude kids and the cleaner who refuses to make the effort to speak another language and to understand me. Well, we hated it, and suggest that visitors not bother. All of this theatre is in bad taste, garishly decorated with absolutely no style, too many crowds, and nowhere else to go except a McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts up the street. We will never go back. It was suggested that we travel on the subway, but that would have cost us a total of $8.00 round trip -- and we were only traveling 4 miles -- when last year it would have cost $5.00. Couldn't figure out the subway because no one sits in the booths to give visitors information. We finally gave up and chose to drive. Then I had to park 5 blocks away from the theatre and paid $10 for parking on a cold night on the 4th level of a dingy parking lot, walked in the dark on questionable streets with my 12 yr old daughter, paid outrageous ticket prices (and folks, no one from my state has ever paid $10.50 for a movie ticket) We bought popcorn we had to butter ourselves. Restrooms were dirty. Then this guy rolls a cart in front of the screen and starts to talk about popcorn for sale and stories he would have told. I wanted to ask if he tapdanced as well. Finally, he went away. Whatever happened to the Copley Theatres? Easy to reach, walk in the warm through hotel and elevated glass walkways, plenty to do before and after the movie. Even the Boston Common was a disappointment -- they used to have lovely lights on the trees, a different color for every tree. Boston Common Christmas lights were all white and limpy looking. So, all I can say is save your money, find another place to go.

So many of the cinemas in the greater Boston area are showing their signs of age, so Loews Boston Common is a really nice change of pace. It's huge, something like 20 screens. The stadium seating is comfortable and designed to let you see things better (and if you don't mind sitting pretty close in some of the screens, you can sometimes get just 2 seats together and not have to deal with having any annoying people sit near you). The seats themselves are comfortable, too. It's great for a last minute trip to the movies because with so many screens there's a lot of choice and something starting most of the time. It is a bit overwhelming with so many people and all the escalators. It's right across from the Boylston T stop on the Green Line, so very convenient by public transport (also not much of a walk from Park Street and Red Line, though it's easiest just take the train one more stop). A dollar or two more than some other theaters, but not more than that.

I had never been to this theatre before recently; I actually used my AMC Theaters gift card I received from Judy's Book to go and see "Little Miss Sunshine" (an excellent film, but I'll save that for another review!).
Located conveniently in the Commons and next to parts of Emerson College (really close to the T), Loews is a little overwhelming at first, because it's so large. The first floor is where you buy tickets, and also there are a few screens & concessions there, but on the seconds floor is where most of the screens are located. They keep it very clean, but they don't really seem to have enough people working the ticket counters and concession stands.
The seats themselves (stadium-style), are VERY comfortable and spacious, which is always a great thing when it comes to movie theaters. I enjoyed my experience here, but I would recommend catching an early show to beat the high ticket prices at night. Otherwise, this place is great!

Loews Boston Common is enormous, and that's the fun of it. Don't be scared away by the long lines, because they move quickly, and there's automated ticketing if you'd prefer. This is the place to go when you really want to indulge in the feeling that you're Going to the Movies. Skip it if you're going to see a documentary or such, and save your money to go here for the latest blockbuster or action flick.

I was skeptical of the Loews Boston Common because it was so big. It's several floors and exudes sleek glamour. However, once I went, I realized you are here for the Movie Experience. As such, come here for the movies you really want to see on the big screen and feel like you're having an Event. It's right near Park Street and Boylston on the Green Line; they have the usual concessions and then some; and the seats are laid out well for seeing the screen. I didn't feel packed in like a sardine. It's not cheap here, but it is awe-inspiring.

They have all the blockbusters playing at this theater. The unique thing about this is they will often get all of the first rate movies that are exclusive engagements, so this is a great place to see those movies. It is convenient to public transportation and all of the best restaurants in Boston. If you are in town, stop for dinner and a movie at Lowes.

I was there couple times, they have a really huges theather. Once i was in the one of the theather that can fit almost 200 people while we are only about 50 people. I don't really like the management because they don't clean the theather before we got in. Also you have to park at their garage so it is kind of expensive. You can find a parking but it will takes a while.

Hey, I'm a big advocate for "you get what you pay for" - hence $10.25 for a movie is fine with me, as long as the seats are comfortable, the sound sytem is top notch, and the fact that its such a big establishment means more choices! This is the theater I ALWAYS go to, unless the movie is an indie/foreign film that can only be seen at Kendle
