For great Thai food with a dazzling array of menu choices, Montien is for you. The restaurant?s hip vibe ? majestic red walls, chic black furniture and large mirrors ? combined with the cheerful service, immediately make you feel special. And the exotic and scrumptious appetizers keep the good times rolling. Favorites include Lady Dancing, marinated shrimp grilled on skewers served with cucumber and peanut sauce; and Bang-Bang, a ground shrimp and chicken crispy spring roll with sweet and sour sauce. But then things really get good with a plethora of house special, seafood, curry, noodle and salad entrees that will satisfy all tastes. Standouts include the mild shrimp Panang Curry with green peas, onions, basil and coconut milk; and the Seafood Kamikaze - shrimp, scallop and squid stir-fried with onion, mushroom and zucchini in a hot chili sauce. And for those who want to keep it simple, the Pad-Se-Iew - stir-fried noodles with egg, Chinese broccoli in a perfect sweet soy sauce - doesn?t disappoint.

So I got here late (9:45 pm). My waiter was friendly and nice and answered all my questions. The sushi rolls were fresh and there was a wide variety to chose from. The drunken noodles were seasoned and spiced well (I asked for mine a "little spicy"). The wine was slightly pricy (as far as Asian restaurants go) but the portion was good, so I didn't mind. The only negative was that at 10:15 pm, they asked if I could pay my bill. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the hostess told me they closed at 10:30 pm. I really didn't mind as I was already eating (and drinking wine). To be fair, I was the last diner inside at that point. Normally, I don't like being rushed in my dining but I was famished and the food in front of me. Ehh, if that's the worst I can comment on... who cares? Pros: EXCELLENT FOOD, Good service, GENTLE PRICES!! Cons: No available parking (as far as I could tell)

I walk by Montien all the time, and yesterday I finally checked it out. I asked for the Thai menu in addition to the regular menu. The prices were very reasonable and the food excellent. Servers were running around all over the place, so attention is limited but efficient. Our food came very quickly and tasted great! The restaurant was very crowded and a bit loud, but we managed to have excellent conversation. Pros: Price, Taste, speedy service Cons: Loud

After spending time in Thailand, and being to many Thai restaurants in the US and elsewhere, I can say that Montien has the most authentic, delicious Thai food anywhere outside of Thailand. When you go, ask for the "Thai menu" - it's in English, but has dishes straight from menus in Bangkok that you won't find anywhere else - crispy catfish salad, red-flaming morning glory, raw shrimp and chilies. This is REAL Thai food, not the dumbed-down version most restaurants in the US serve. Go with friends, be adventurous, eat with a spoon - it's what the Thais do! I am not easily impressed by Thai restaurants but this is one I will definitely be going back to. Pros: Authentic, Great service
