I can't comment the authenticity but I think Toro so far is the best when compared to Dali or Tapeo. The food are much delicately prepared and .. adventurous. I think the corn, beef tongue, octopus cerviche are some of the best to name a few. I have been back there more than a couple of times.
The cons are: no reservation. And, they don't seat until all the parties show up. It's hard for a large group. It's true the service aren't that great, but I tend to ignore them (even they might be rushing me..) For the food, I'm willing to put up with this. To get a seat promptly, I tend to go there around 5.45 p.m., after that, there is a long wait ...
Pros: Food
Cons: service, no reservation

We tried this amazing little place for the first time, and we had a fantastic night which started with delicious red wine. You get the impression from the decor and general vibe that you really are in Spain, and the food is certainly delicious. We did an assortment of tapas plates and desserts and almost all of them were very good, particularly the Yellowfin tuna with citrus and soy. However, if you are a vegetarian, there are not a ton of choices if you don't eat fish.
Pros: Hot vibe, awesome wine, delicious food
Cons: They forgot to bring one of the things we ordered

A great way to sample the delicious, creative dishes from Ken Orringer. I'm impressed each time with how many plates we get for what the bill totals to - a good deal for a high end place.

What some people don't know about this place is the empenadas are made by this woman in her home. Then she delivers them to Toro, and they cook and serve them. They are the most delicious thing I've ever tasted, not to mention, home made! The staff is great, Mojito's are yummy, and it's nice that you can see the kitchen, so you know it's clean. The sangria leaves something to be desired, but they do put delicious fresh orange and apple slices in it. They are good to munch on between bread slices. Also, you absolutely have to get the corn. I know everyone probably says that, but it's amazing.
Pros: Amazing Tapas, good for groups of friends
Cons: You leave smelling like the fireplace burning inside!

The menu showcases non traditional items that you don't see at other restaurants, I would suggest being adventurous and try new things here. The sweetbreads were excellent. I was even surprised at the value of the food. The outdoor seating is great for the summer as well.

In addition to offering the best and most creative spanish cuisine, Toro offers a truly amazing food tasting experience period. I have experienced tapas restaurants in San Franciso, Chicago, New York and Miami and Toro is far and above the best I have had. Atmosphere is vibrant, wine selection is phenomenal. Service can be slow due to crowds

The food was incredible! The service was beyond terrible... They kept taking away plates with food still on them and half full drinks... We even had to rescue a part full carafe of wine from the bar! They also accidentally debited an extra $200 from my account (which was voided, but still took a week to arrive back in my account), so I'd recommend paying with cash or a credit card that isn't linked to your bank account!
All this aside, the food is still more than worth the hassle - just arrive early and be prepared to swat away overly eager busers.
Pros: the food!
Cons: the service

I have dined at Toro more than a few times. It is without a doubt one of my fave places to eat in the city. I always get great service here, and it is always fun to see what new dishes have been added to the menu. I eat here about once a month, and have yet to be disappointed. Great front of the house staff + great cocktails+ amazing nibble= Toro. Best tapas around, hands down! Viva la Toro! !Coma aqui, usted lo amara!
Pros: Great food, drinks, and service. Fun scene, cool neighborhood.
Cons: nothing, except having to wait for a table, even on a Sunday night.

I went here with some girls to celebrate a birthday. We went on a Monday night and didn't think it would be crowded, but thank god we got there before 8...or we would have been waiting. The waitress was prompt at first and recommended some great drinks to start out. The "hue-ball sangria" was delicious, but took forever to get it. We ordered a few tapas for the table (corn, artichokes, croquetas, veggie dish, etx) and finished off with a plate of cheese, which all came out quickly, but the waitress was no where to be found to order more drinks. The tapas were great and just enough to keep us satisfied and not too full. The corn was the best I've ever had and we were tempted to order a second plate of it. Definitely recommend this place, but be aware the service isn't the best.
Pros: corn, Spanish setting
Cons: Service
