I've eaten Poppa B's food on several occasions and have yet to be disappointed. The food is great (pork ribs, beef ribs, greens, candied yams, fried catfish, cornbread, etc.) I have also found the employees to be very friendly and don't really understand what all the complaints on service are about. This is a neighborhood, family restaurant with a hometown feel and good vittles. If this is what you're looking for, Poppa B's does it as good as, if not better than, anyone. Pros: Corn bread, pork ribs, sweet tea.. all close to home! Cons: not sure yet!

My family and I ordered 4 pieces of chicken, a side of collard greens and mac and cheese, and four cornbreads as a takeout order. $29!! Unbelievable. What made it worse was that the food was TERRIBLE!! The chicken was dried up and burned with no flavor. It looked like something that was sitting out for days and they used old oil to fry it in. A fast food resturant could do better! The collard greens were way too salty and had big turkey bones in it. I couldnt believe they had the nerve to call that mess 'mac and cheese'. We were so disappointed. Not to mention the fact that the service could have been better. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Save your money! Cons: Bad service, Bad food, Over priced

I first want to start off by saying that I am extremely disappointed in the service I received at Poppa B?s. I always order take out at this location. I wanted a chicken wing dinner with mac + cheese on the side with sweet potatoes. The order took 45 minutes to prepare. When I got to the restaurant, the server told me that they ran out of sweet potatoes and had no more cornbread. (How a soul food restaurant does not have this, I will never know). I was wondering why they did not tell me that over the phone!! I was so mad at the situation that I decided to write the owner of the company a 2 page letter. He never responded back!! Goes to show you how important customer service is to them. My advise is to bring in employees who care. I will say that this is the worst customer service experience I had in a long time. They are entirely too slow and don?t care about what their customers think. I think that is why the restaurant is never full when I pick up my food. Needless to say, I will never go back to Poppa B?s. Pros: Great Mac and Cheese Cons: Service

The pancakes were excellent, fried chickent - above average, eggs - pretty good, sausage was good as well. the only dissapointing food were the grits (and I love grits) There was an aftertaste with them; my guess is that the cook isn't keeping a clean grill. But the service was just bad. Most people know that when you enter a restaurant with young children you have a window of opportunity before the meltdowns. We placed our order and waited for nearly an hour before our food was brought to us. While everyone was very nice, if you go be prepared to wait. The food was pretty good, but when you factored in the wait time; I am not rushing back. Pros: pancakes and fried chicken Cons: parking
