I love this place for a quick, affordable, fresh brunch. It has a small menu, but everything is great! Wonderful bread, fresh fruit and because you order at the counter, service is pretty fast. Their stuffed french toast and the toast topped with marscapone, fruit and honey are phenomenal. I prefer this to nearby Paramount anyday.
Pros: brunch, delicious food, close to Charles/MGH T
Cons: few tables

As someone who's not exactly Newbury St. chic or white collar but works in the Back Bay, I usually have a hard time finding a place in the area I can enjoy a nice lunch at without breaking the bank. It is indeed more of a hole-in-the-wall type establishment as like o mentioned, but it does fill a niche for people who are looking for non-sushi Japanese fare. If you want better ramen bowls, I'd recommend Ken's over at the 88 in Allston, but if you're in the area and are bored with the Boloco, Scoozi, and other "cooler" Newbury St. spots, try Mentei.
Pros: Different Fare, Fast, Not too expensive
Cons: Would be average if there were more convenient alternatives.

Our first experience at Solstice was this summer, where we ate on the patio. Our servers NEVER rushed us through our meals or the coffee that followed. In fact, when we left, we realized they had stayed open 40 minutes extra for us. The staff was attentive, but not crowding us. We made second reservations for a family gathering meal/birthday on-the-spot. We would definitely recommend dinner, lunch, snacks or just a drink at Solstice! We love it, but keep it "our secret"... we would be crushed if popularity destroyed the great service and food seved there! We had drinks(2 each), appetizer to share, entrees (2), and dessert (2) --- TRY THE MANGO CHEESECAKE!!!--- all for around $55-$60 total.
Pros: great service, neighborhood feel, good wine selection
Cons: no parking

I went there last Friday and had the best salad that I have had in a long time. I had the tuna Chefs salad with basalmic honey dressing and a cup of Italian Soup with fish for $7. It was really fantastic. They also have lots of other daily specials PIzza, Quiche, Roll ups, Fruit plates, desserts, etc. All the food is Kosher and the food is very fresh. The line to get the food is a little confusing but everything went soomthly and quick. I will definately be going back
Pros: great food and lots to choose from
Cons: Can get very busy at lunchtime

Located in the little Vietnam section of Boston on Dot Ave., this restaurant serves Vietnamese fare. There is a Vietnamese Bakery next door of similar name - perhaps it is run by same proprietor.
