Lucca is on the main tourist drag in the North End- Hanover Street- so is often bustling with business. If you do not want to wait, try to plan ahead and make a reservation for a table. In the summer months when the tall-windows are open and the breeze is blowing through the restaurant it is definitely the place to be.
The food here is always excellent with the concentration being on classic Italian meat and pasta dishes. Service here is also very good, but the menu tends to be on the pricey side - which is typical of this neighborhood. Expect to spend approximately $100 for a dinner for two once you throw in the wine.

Before going to Lucca, I looked at the menu online to make sure that there was something that I liked on the menu....I showed up at dinner only to see that the menu on the web was outdated and they did not have what I wanted - but the "new" menu was also more expensive than what was on the web. The service wasn't great, but the worst part was when they lost our coats for 30 minutes and couldn't find them.
