Mistral was great. The restaurant is comfortable - even though it was full, I had a business dinner with a friend and we felt like we had plenty of privacy. The food is very good - the executive chef is the same as several other Boston restaurants, including The Federalist. The menu has nice variety - all with a Med flair - but upscale / fancy. Service was great - the waitstaff was attentive but not over bearing. It was on the expensive side, but worth it.

The South End's best restaurant may just be Mistral- an excellent Meditterranean culinary adventure. Here patrons are treated to excellent cuisine prepared with the upmost attention. Somehow they have designed the perfect way of cooking filet so it is charred on the outside and medium rare throughout. The side dishes and accompianments are also well thought out. Not as much thought goes into presentation, but the taste will be enough to win anyone over.
Service here is professional and the prices are very reasonable considering the upscale ingredients on the menu. The desserts and wine list are often worth mentioning. Reservations are highly recommended due to the business of this South End destination.
