A quick walk from the Aquarium T station on the blue line and you arrive at a great, intimate restaraunt neatly called The Living Room. The idea of a sit down, get comfy kind of restaraunt is fabulous. Big couches surround coffee tables as you enter the dimly lit front room. Our larger party was seated in the back which was completely empty on a Wednesday night. The food was fabulous (the mac and cheese is a must!) and the drinks really were great, but a little pricey at $10.50 for a small martini. However, the service was horrific. This was a party of 15 and our waitress only stopped by twice. Once to get drink and dinner orders and once to drop of dinner and the drinks. There was no check up and certainly no refill of drinks. There was also a mix up in the bill and our waitress was again no where to be found. Overall the atmosphere is what makes this place!

The Living Room in the North End specializes in seafood and martinis. The dining room is a typical formal setting, but the lounge area is host to the most comfortable seating area in a Boston restaurant (hence the name- Living Room). The big couches are the perfect place to get together with friends for one of this restaurant's great martinis. The lounge area is also the perfect place to catch the big game due to several great plasma screens that are constantly on. Brunch is served on Sunday, which means this might be the best host of NFL early games in the city. Unfortunately, the lounge area of the Living Room is far superior to the dining area and service. The entrees served for dinner have little imagination and the servers tend to ignore their customers. They say they can handle large parties- but expect to be ignored.
