Wow,
Just tried this place and I have to say what a meal! I liked it so much I have been back 3 times to try the other entrees. I had the mac and cheese the first time which is not an entree I would normally order but while I was waiting at the bar a bunch of people kept coming in for pick up service and it was always mac and cheese or the steak tips. I asked one of the people picking up if the mac was good, she told me she is a waitress at another restaurant in the area and she orders the mac or steak tips all the time and recommended it. She told me a lot of people in the area order from the North Street Grille because the prices are very reasonable. So obviously I ordered it and guess what? I can't believe I'm going to say this... it was absolutely amazing! I never knew I liked mac and cheese so much. I liked it so much I even tried to duplicate it at home but with no luck! So this experience sent me back for more.
The second time back I had the steak tips and they were cooked to perfection, I ordered them rare. They were perfectly charred on the out side, red in the middle and very tender. The side dishes were just as amazing but I'm concentrating on the main dishes here. I can see why people were frequently ordering both entrees.
The third time back I was there for lunch on a Sat and got a burger. I asked for it rare, hot and spicy but stressed real hot! The waitress left to put in the order and then the chef/owner came to me ( I think her name was Robin, but don't quote me ) and she asked some questions pertaining to real hot and actually sent out one of her employees to fetch a habanero pepper because I told her jalapeno's are not hot enough for me.(Now that's service!) She even joked with me about signing a waver, lol. She also added some home made hot sauce to boot and let me tell you, WOW, the burger was huge and cooked perfect like the tips (juicy rare) and it was very hot and tasty! (It went in hot and came out hot! LOL) The fries were also awesome too, not greasy at all. Again I'm concentrating on the entrees.
Now, I live about 40 min outside of Boston and keep coming back to this friendly, quaint grill. All my friends like it there too but we are guys and we don't share food (girls do that) but all the food always looks good and all my buddy's like it very much too. If there's a wait, I sit at the bar and grab a cold brew and talk to the friendly bar tenders which are starting to know me by name, LOL.
OK, You have heard me ramble on too long, now it's time for the rating..... I will give it 5 out of 5 stars! for taste but I have to give 6 out of 5 stars for service, friendly wait staff and definitely price! If you want really good food at a very reasonable price I highly suggest this place. Hey you may even run into me and my buddy's eating there. If you are a woman and have a few cute friends come on in and ask for Rich, LOL. (kidding)
Oh, and guys, If you serial date, this is a nice quiet grill where you can talk and get to know the girl and if it doesn't go well......... well at least you didn't break the bank! LOL

we saw this place reveiwed on the phantom gourmet and went the very same day for lunch. easy to find, clean and comfy.
the food was slow to come but it was well worth the wait...clearly cooked fresh and to order.
we started with the sliders. if the burger on the sandwich menu is a bigger version of this, we have undoubtedly found our new burger place in town!
they were simple and fresh...topped with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and served on a brioche bun.
delicious.
i had the lobster mac & cheese. out standing. big chunks of lobster and lots of creamy, bubbling cheese sauce.
my girlfriend had the spicy crispy chicken wrap which was a little hard to manuver but was stuffed with juicy chicken, pecans, and bacon. it was served with a big pile of really crispy fries.
the service was friendly but not over the top.
they serve brunch until 3 on saturday and sunday and even have a nutella/banana slider on a croissant for a starter!
i can't wait to go back for breakfast...a total hidden jewel as far as i'm concerned. and reasonably priced. for two sodas, an app and two entrees we paid $38.

The North Street Grille is the best place to go for breakfast or brunch on a Saturday or Sunday morning in Boston. Convieniently located in the North End, the North Street Grille is frequented by locals, but overlooked by tourists thankfully. It is always crowded, but they always seem to have room to seat their faithful patrons. The decor inside is charming- clean and modern, but at the same time quaint feeling.
The food at the North Street Grille is unbelievable. They have excellent omelettes and waffles- but the standout on their menu is the stuffed french toast. The peanut butter and jelly version is fantastic! They also have a full liquor license which is great for mimosas, bellinis and mojitos to start your morning out right!
