Wisteria House is so unassuming you probably have walked past it a dozen times on Newbury Street. Next time, instead of hanging out at the Armani Cafe, look for this charming, tasty restaurant. The food served here is Taiwanese and is served in rather large portions. Not surprisingly some of the best dishes served here are from Taiwan such as the crispy Tofu while others would not be out of place on a menu in Beijing such as the scallion pancake (which tastes wonderful here by the way). Prices are a little higher than what you would pay in Chinatown and the service is friendly and very helpful.

If you're on Newbury Street and have no desire to walk another mile to get to Chinatown, then you absolutely must stop by Wisteria House. It's a small place without many tables, but I've never had a problem getting a seat. The food is good and rivals that of crowded Chinatown, and they have a good selection of Taiwanese cuisine.
